Zesty Slow Cooker Chicken Barbecue

Reviewed: Feb. 12, 2012
Great Taste. Used sweet baby rays bbq sauce and followed the recipe. Added 2 tbs of minced garlic and a half of a roughly chopped yellow onion. I will make this in the future maybe trying the chicken broth cooking method then adding bbq sauce.

Too Much Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Sep. 9, 2011
Wow, this was excellent! Ive tried alot of different recipes from this website, and I think this is the best recipe on the site! I of course followed the suggestions of others (reduced oil, added milk, reduced amt of choc chips) and the result was perfect. I couldnt stop eating it,I had two pieces and still nibbled more as I put it away! Highly recommend

Carrot Pineapple Cake I

Reviewed: Feb. 7, 2011
Excellent recipe. I used half wheat flour and half white and added golden raisins. I also reduced sugar to 1 1/4 cups and used half oil and half applesauce. Added nutmeg and allspice as others suggested. I also added 1 tsp vanilla to the cream cheese frosting. Magnificent!

Perfect Berry Shortcakes

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2010
Excellent shortcake recipe. I mady my own strawberry topping with about 2 lbs ripe strawberries and 5 tbl sugar. I put about 60% of the strawberries in between the layers of the cake and the rest I cooked and pureed for a yummy strawberry syrup. I put whipped cream on top of the shortcake and then drizzled a heaping spoonfull of syrup over it. Perfect!

The Best Vegetarian Chili in the World

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2010
I am sorry but this was not very good. I've eaten worse food but this is definately on the "Never Again" list. I made according to the recipe and I thought it was bad. I have to add more cumin and garlic to give it some palatable flavor, but I cannot over come the excessive spice. It was much too hot. I added some sugar to counteract the acid-like heat, and it helped a little but I cant say that it was good. Really disappointed since it was quite time consuming.

Ham and Cheese Quiche

Reviewed: Aug. 26, 2009
Was pretty good, I liked it. My husband felt it needed more veggies and add onions. He also said there should have been cheese in the middle. Overall this was pretty good. I will make it again.

Chorizo Stuffed Bell Peppers

Reviewed: Aug. 1, 2009
I thought this was ok. I thought the stuffing was somewhat bland. Next time I will follow the advice of another reviewer and use Chihuahua cheese and Mexican style rice. Also I really think this needed more rice. At least twice as much in my opinion. Maybe add some cumin as well. Not sure what the tomato soup poured over the top was supposed to do, I didnt think it added anything to the recipe. I will omit next time. I did like the pepper and chorizo combo flavor and I do think this recipe is worth making again, just with some modifications. Thanks for the recipe.

Cherry Pie III

Reviewed: Jul. 28, 2009
Not very good. But I did not follow the recipe exactly. I used Bing cherries bcz thats all I had. I used 1/2 cup white and 1/2 cup brown sugar. It was too sweet for me and I just didnt like the flavor of the cherries. I usually love cherry pies bought at the store, but this was no where near as tasty. I dont know if I would try this again, but if I did I would use a lot less sugar (maybe half cup total).

Janet's Rich Banana Bread

Reviewed: Jul. 26, 2009
Excellent Recipe! I did a little tweaking like everyone else: did not melt the butter, just softened it.I dont know if that really makes a difference but some one else suggested it. Used half brown half white sugar. Added 1/2 tsp cinnamon and 1/2tsp nutmeg. Slightly mashed 4 bananas instead of 2, but left alot of chunks (I love banana flavor). Only used half as many nuts bcz thats all I had. Delicious! This is my new banana recipe

Three Animal Italian Meatballs

Reviewed: Jul. 24, 2009
Best recipe for Meatballs Ive tried on this site! I did make some tweaks: Didnt have beef so I used 1 lb hot italian sausage and 1 lb turkey. Used 1/3 cup bread crumbs, 1/3 cup oats, half an onion, one egg, and added garlic. Once they were done cooking in the oven, I put them on a baguette bread with marinara sauce and sprinkled mozzarella on it and popped back in the oven for 8 mins or so at 410 degrees just to melt and brown the cheese. Hubby said it was the best meatballs I ever made :-D Very delicious.

Easy Apple Cinnamon Muffins

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2008
This was very good. I did adjust the recipe as other reviewers suggested. I used one and a half apples. I did not make the sprinkle topping, I just sprinkled cinnamon and sugar on top. Also, next time I would do 375 degrees instead of 400, because the tops were a little over cooked for my taste.
