Easy Tuna Patties

Now that tuna comes in a 5 ounce can and no longer a 6 ounce can, how do you adjust the recipe? When using 3 5 ounce cans you then get 3 ounces less. Do you then use 4 5 ounce cans, so you get an extra 2 ounces.

Oat Bran Bread

Out of all the breads I've made, I think this is my favorite. I think this is definitely a bread that I'll make often. The main reason I made it is because I wanted to get rid of the oat bran that I had. I looked for a recipe and found this one. After tasting it, now I'm going to have to buy more oat bran.

Aunt Mary's Vanilla Frosting

I just made the frosting and I initially followed the exact instructions. Of course it came out like soup so I made a few changes/additions. Instead of using just 2/3 cup of confectioners sugar I quadrupled the amount and used 2 2/3 cups. I also used 10 tablespoons of flour rather then 5 to cut down on the sweetness and also increase the thickness. Also, I didn't have shortening, so I used two 1/2 cup sticks of butter being shortening and butter are interchangable and one can be substituted for the other. After I did that, it came out fine. If you wanted to put more confectioners sugar in to make it even thicker, you can. Also, I beat it profusely to get out all the lumps. Of course that may just have been me because the two sticks of butter I used were still a little hard.

Snickerdoodles V

I made a half batch of these cookies to test taste the other day because I wasn't sure if they would be good or not. They definitely were good. I then made a full batch today for my friends house tomorrow and as I was taking the last pan out of the oven I realized that I missed putting in the 1/2 teaspoon of salt. I tasted one and it made no difference from what I could tell. I also used in place of 1 cup of shortening 2 sticks of no salt butter. So basically there's no salt at all in these cookies and they still came out good.

Banana Banana Strawberry Smoothie

Very good. I had to make some changes because I didn't have exactly everything in the recipe. Instead of 8 oz. of strawberry yogurt I used 6 oz. of vanilla yogurt. I put in a cup of fresh strawberries to make up for not having the strawberry yogurt. Being the yogurt was only 6 oz. instead of 8 oz. I put in 1 cup of milk rather then 3/4 cup. I also put in only 1 teaspoon of sugar instead of 2. All in all, it came out good. I'd definitely make it again.

Mom's Pie Crust

I've made this pie crust several times when I made apple pie. It's easy to make and comes out excellent. I think I'm going to use it to make a quiche next.

Spinach Cheese Bake

This is a really good recipe. This is the second time I've made it. The only problem I noticed (and I think I emailed you about this the first time I made it) is that under the ingredients it says to add 1.5 cups milk. No where in the recipe itself does it tell you when to add the milk. You should really make this correction and add to the recipe itself when to put in the milk. It makes sense to add the milk after mixing the butter and flour. This way when you put the cheese in to melt it becomes smooth. Just my opinion.
