About this Cook
I am retired and the proud "Nanna" of five grandchildren, three boys and two girls. I love spending time with them, and cooking for them whenever I can. I have wonderful a daughter and a wonderful son, and am very, very proud of them, as well.
My favorite things to cook
I cook primarily Italian-lasagna, manicotti, polenta, and sauces from scratch. Thanks to my daughter, I eat more healthy since she is a vegan and thanks to my daughter-in-law, I can now make dinner rolls and cinnamon buns. I have learned to combine the two, by cooking with whole wheat.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I am of Hispanic/Native American heritage and I have definitly not followed it. But, if grandchildren are available - I make sure that they help me in the kitchen and it always turns into a learning experience.
My cooking triumphs
To date, are my dinner rolls and sticky cinnamon buns. My lasagna is especially well received, and has easily sold for five dollars a square, many years ago.
My cooking tragedies
Prior to becoming an AllRecipes member, I couldn't make pie crust if my life depended on it - but now, I am a whiz at Apple Pie and the crust is almost the best part. I also use the crust for Empanadas and the filling can be almost anything delicious!

Sweet Corn Cake
I tried this version, and it was delicious! I didn't use the Mexican Harina, I used regular All-purupose Flour. It still came out delicious - can't wait to do it again, or try another version. I just love allrecipes.com, I'd recommend it to all levels of cooks.

Pizza Dough I
This dough is the bomb, I added dried Rosemary, and Basil to it. Sooooo easy, and tasty.

Butter Flaky Pie Crust
For a beginning baker - intermediate cook, this recipe has given me much confidence, so I think I have become an intermediate baker, as well. Mmmmmm good crust - every time!
