Balsamic Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2010
I just made this for dinner and my kids LOVED it! You really have to reduce the marinade on this so the vinegar taste isn't as strong. The marinade wasn't thickening and I didn't want to overcook the breasts so I took them out and then brought the sauce to a boil in the pan. Perfect!

Mexican Rice I

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2010
This was delicious! But I did have to make some adjustments based on what I had on hand last minute. I used brown minute rice, was out of chili powder and cumin so I used an equal mix of garlic powder, paprika and cayenne pepper. I also added fresh salsa instead of canned diced tomatoes. Still very good and I bet original recipe is even better!

Spicy Lime Grilled Shrimp

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2010
Way too spicy! I used a generic cajun seasoning and left in fridge for an hour which may have been the problem but it was so spicy we ended up rinsing the spice off of the shrimp in the sink and that only helped a little.

Homestyle Turkey, the Michigander Way

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2008
After 10 years of cooking our holiday dinners and trying out new recipes the search is finally over for the perfect turkey! Everyone raved that this was the best and most moist turkey the have ever tasted in their lives. My mother in law even stole the recipe on her way out. I used a Butterball turkey that was already brined (most Butterballs are) and followed the directions almost exactly. The only change I made was to cut down a little on the chicken bouillon to 2 T since it seemed a little much and stuffed the bird with a peeled/cored apple which is supposed to help keep it moist. The drippings made a perfect gravy as is by just thickening it with Wondra and water. Perfect and easy...definitely try this one!

Perfect Turkey

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2008
I was so excited to try this recipe but unfortunately I had already bought a Butterball turkey. Butterball turkeys are already brined which I never realized before. I saw on the label that it is infused with a 7% salt solution so I googled it and found out you should never brine a Butterball because it will come out too salty (which I'm guessing is the reason a few users said this recipe was too salty). So when buying a turkey for this recipe make sure it is not already brined. I will try this recipe with a different brand another time:)
