Cranberry Pistachio Biscotti

Reviewed: Mar. 10, 2011
The biscottis turned out so good! These were a bit hit with my parents, so that was great =) For me, a little bit more sugar next time, that's all. Thanks for the wonderful recipe Gerry!

Tiramisu IV

Reviewed: Feb. 27, 2011
Overall I thought this was very good. I too used Leslie's suggestions and used marscarpone and sugar with some vanilla. I didn't use the amaretto and that didn't hurt the recipe. Next time I will drizzle some coffee on the ladyfingers as well to soak them up a bit more. Also, I felt like the cheese/cream mixture amount was too low for the amount of lady fingers (i know i didn't use amaretto, but still). I will double this too next time or use less ladyfingers. I think I will keep this as my staple tiramisu recipe, considering NO eggs! Cuts my prep time tremendously and tastes just as good. Thanks Nette and Leslie ;)

Angel's Yummy Bruschetta

Reviewed: Mar. 10, 2011
This bruschetta recipe seemed almost authentic but very easy! I've been told that an authentic bruschetta calls for fresh basil leaves and that's what I used. I also used a teaspoon of dried italian spices (which included oregano and dried basil and a bunch of other spices) because that's all I had on hand. The mixture turned out wonderdful and even better the next day to make some more! Thx Robyne!

Magic Cookie Bars I

Reviewed: Feb. 19, 2011
These were so delicious! We couldn't stop eating them. I mixed the margarine and crumbs before adding it to the pan. I added some more graham cracker crumbs, about 2 1/2 cups total and didn't pour the entire can of milk, just left about a quarter out. it took me some strength to cut these up into bars and take them out of the pan. Will make these again, for sure! thanks!

Strawberry Cake II

Reviewed: Mar. 10, 2011
This turned out very sweet and too dense the first time I made it without changing up anything. It was still pretty good. The next time, I just made it very simple. I simply used a Philsbury yellow package cake mix (followed instructions per the box) with 1/2 cup strawberries pureed in the cake mix and 2 tbsp in the icing (suggested by Ramajohn) and that's it! I just topped the cake with fresh strawberries. I omitted everything else and it turned out excellent! I guess I created a new recipe, but hey everyone loved it at a birthday party!! Thanks!

Blueberry Muffins II

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2010
Wow, these were sooooo good! I love blueberry muffins and this will be my go to recipe when I feel like eating some. It's simple yet so tasty! I didn't want to alter the recipe too much, but I increased the milk to 1/2 cup since the batter was too thick. I threw in some chocolate chips because I LOVE chocolate! Yummy in my tummy! Thanks OKBEE ;)

Raspberry Almond Kiss Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2009
I tried this recipe out for a different type of cookie to make rather than the same old stuff. But, unfortunately, I was not fond of this. I think the almond extract should be increased as I could still smell the flour and eggs after baking. The kisses and drizzle part tasted average. It was ok. Thanks.

Easy Indian Butter Chicken

Reviewed: Dec. 7, 2011
This recipe was quite easy and came out tasting great. I love Indian food and make it often. I took the suggestion of the owner and used 1/4 cup butter and evaporated milk instead. I cooked the chicken in canola oil and tandoori masala first. Then added the butter and started making the sauce. I had some trouble with the sauce thickening up after I let it simmer for 20-30 minutes. I had to add a bit more liquid. Overall, this will be my go to recipe for butter chicken...for now =) Thanks!

Exquisite Pizza Sauce

Reviewed: Mar. 10, 2011
Wow, this was really exquisite! I just omitted a few ingredients, just because I didn't have them and it was a Friday night and I didn't want to run to the grocery store! I omitted the anchovy paste and marjoram. Also used a little less honey, I didn't want it to be too sweet. It really turned out excellent! Bye bye Ragu! Thanks Angie!

Cheesecake Bars

Reviewed: Jul. 12, 2009
These were absolutely delicious! One of the best foods I've made from this website. Everyone loved them and they turned out wonderful. I did double the filling, as I noticed the quantity seemed very low like others said. I omitted the walnuts and everything still came out great. I will definitely make these again & again!THANKS!

Fresh Strawberry Upside Down Cake

Reviewed: Apr. 26, 2010
This cake turned out ok. My family enjoyed it a lot. I personally thought it was a bit too sweet for my taste. I also decided to top it with some whipped cream as the cake did not 'look' pretty. I think I'll stick to the pinapple upside down cake!

Award Winning Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 7, 2009
These are great. I love making and eating cookies! I prefer more of a rich chocolatey taste, but these were a hit at my house. I had to add about 1/2 tsp salt to the flour mixture because I didn't want it to be too sweet. They came out soft and chewy in 12 mins. Will make them again. Thx.

Neiman Marcus Cake II

Reviewed: Oct. 31, 2009
This cake was very easy to make and okay overall. I took others suggestions and added some almond extract (a little over a tsp) into the cream cheese mixture, and thought the essence was too overpowering...not going to do that in the future. I only used 1 1/2 cups sugar and that was fine. I might tweak this recipe next time. I guess I'm a bigger fan of moist cakes. Not bad though. thanks

MMMMM... Brownies

Reviewed: Oct. 31, 2009
These cookies were fabulous! I baked for 30 mins and they came out very moist. I mixed the eggs and vanilla in a separate bowl, then added the brownie mixture from the saucepan to the bowl. I also added the flour, baking soda and salt in the bowl with some walnuts. The steps were simple, a bit more cleanup for me, but I think it was worth it. I know I'll be making these in the future. Thanks.

Strawberry Dream Cake I

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2009
The cake tasted pretty good, but one slice really filled me up. I wasn't a big fan of this different taste because it's not like the moist cakes I'm used to eating. But overall it was good. thx

Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cookies II

Reviewed: Mar. 26, 2009
These cookies was really good! I'm only giving it 4 stars because, for some reason, I felt they were lacking something. I'm not sure if it was sugar or what. I didn't have cocoa powder, so I substituted hot coco mix. Maybe that had something to do with it. Next time, I will follow the recipe exactly and see what happens! But pretty good overall. Thanks!!!

Chinese Chicken Fried Rice II

Reviewed: Mar. 23, 2009
This is a great recipe for quick and easy chicken fried rice! I had double the amount of rice leftover so I used 4 tbsp of soy sauce alltogether. I stir fried onions, some mixed vegetables and the chicken in 2tbsp of soya sauce for 5 mins before adding in the rice.I also added some hot sauce at this point to give it an extra kick! The entire family enjoyed it. I will definitely make this again! Thanks!
