Tandoori Fish

Reviewed: May 1, 2012
I was a skeptic when I made the marinade. It smelled way too vinegar-y. But I forged ahead because of the reviews and I'm so glad I did. It mellows under the broiler and ends up being slightly sweet with that Indian twang. Served with a curried cauliflower soup and naan. Will absolutely make again.

I love how you can enter "spinach omelet" into the search bar and get exactly what you're looking for. I really liked this and it was a perfect light lunch.

Super easy to prepare and had great consistency. Just thought it could use a little more seasoning. I added basil and pepper.

Pumpkin Dip

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2011
This dip is on the right track, but I felt like it needed some adjusting. I used only about 1.5 cups of the powdered sugar and felt it could have been tangier and creamier, so I'd probably up the cream cheese next time. I also felt like there was a grittiness from 2 tbsp of spices, so I'd cut back on that next time too. Probably just use the pumpkin pie spice and not add the cinnamon. I just finished dipping an entire apple's worth of apple slices in it and it is addicting!

This was delicious. Made with chicken kabobs and I can't wait to eat the leftovers. Nice light summer dinner.

Avocado Feta Salsa

Reviewed: Jul. 18, 2011
This was SO good. The only changes I made were to use two avocados instead of one and replace the parsley/oregano with cilantro. It was super light and tasty. Will add to my arsenal and use frequently.

Grilled Tilapia with Mango Salsa

I'm the only one in the house who really likes fish so I'm constantly looking for a fish dish that the rest of the family will eat. They LOVED this! Super easy to prepare and delicious.

Yummiest Green Beans Ever

Reviewed: May 3, 2011
My family really loved these - even the boys who usually resist anything green. I substituted bacon for the ham and used fresh green beans instead of frozen. Will definitely make again.

Super easy to make. I used it as the base for a turkey pot pie to use up leftovers from Thanksgiving. So good.

Grandma Ople's Apple Pie

Reviewed: Oct. 19, 2009
Hands down the best apple pie I've ever made it my life and really very easy. I took others advice and tossed the apples with apple pie spice before putting them in the pie shell, but other than that, followed the recipe exactly. This will be my new "go to" apple pie recipe!

Amazing flavor and stayed crunchy even under a strawberry pie. The cinnamon is a fantastic, subtle addition.

Strawberry Pie II

Reviewed: Jul. 6, 2009
This pie didn't set up for me. I agree with previous comments that it appears set, but when you cut into it, it runs all over. The flavor is fantastic, but would have been 5 stars if it had set up.

Pat's Baked Beans

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2009
These were so good! Only change I made was to swap out garbanzo beans with a can of navy beans. Loved the variety of beans all mixed together. I also added a crunchy crust to it - 1 cup panko, 3 chopped green onions, and a couple slices chopped bacon. Topped with that, put in oven and it was nice and crispy by the time the beans were done.

Rocky Road Ice Cream

Reviewed: Jul. 14, 2004
This is as good as or better than any store-bought or parlor-dipped Rocky Road you will ever buy. It is so richly chocolately, it's just heavenly. I added semi-sweet chocolate chunks with the nuts and marshmallows - I liked the extra texture/crunch. I would highly recommend this recipe.

American Lasagna

Reviewed: Sep. 17, 2001
I have been trying to duplicate my mother-in-laws' lasagna recipe for years. I made this last night and my husband declared it a success! This was really easy to make - just took a little time. I used half the ground beef and added italian sausage for the rest of the meat and I served extra sauce on the side. Next time, I would add more ricotta and mozzerella since I like it cheesy! Overall, delicious! I will definitely make it again!
