Chicken with Rice and Gravy

Reviewed: Mar. 13, 2010
this recipe was freaking awesome! I didn't have thyme so i just added some parsley and garlic and onion powder. The seasoning was perfect. I used chicken tenders instead of breast and used chicken broth for the gravy and used milk to thin it out like another reviewer suggusted. Definately a keeper. UPdated* i made this again and accidently use a whole cup of broth and it was the perfect amount for the gravy, i didn't need to add any milk or water! I also cut up the chicken to bite size pieces for quicker cooking time.

Chocolate Layer Cake

Reviewed: Mar. 1, 2010
the recipe from the book calls for 1tsp of baking powder and 1/4tsp of baking soda. also make sure to cut smaller slices then just 4 big ones. that would make each of the four slices over 1,000 calories.

PB Breeze

Reviewed: Dec. 31, 2010
this is really good. I'm on my second glass now. Its very smooth, you don't really taste the rum. My first glass i used 4oz of cranberry juice (kept the pineapple the same) since i'm not a big drinker and don't really care for the taste of alcohol so this was perfect. with using the 2oz of the cran juice for the second glass its still isn't alcohaly but you feel the tingle more. Its very nice. I can see it'd be easy over indulging on these.

Slow-Cooker Corned Beef and Cabbage

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2011
i didn't have beer and never have it in the house. I used beef broth to cover the food. I had the carrots cut into baby size and used regular potatoes. I put the cabbage in sooner about 1 1/2hr because we like our cabbage soft. the veggies came out really well. The meat had good flavor also.

Ranch Style Popcorn Seasoning

Reviewed: Jul. 12, 2011
i agree with the first reviewer with the taste is very "ranch like" to me anyway my bf said it tasted nothing liked ranch to him but he really liked the flavoring. He told me to make some more tomorrow night! I made a small amount of popcorn and i made the seasoning as is with the oil the spices clumped up and didn't stick to the popcorn that great. i made another batch of seasoning and left the oil out, and just sprayed the popcorn with butter spray and then tossed in the seasoning worked alot better.

Cheesy Broccoli Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2011
i used fresh broccoli. I forgot to add the bouillon cube to the water (i used more then two cups anyway) So i put the bouillon in the 3/4 cup of the reserved water. The soup came out a bit salty but i think it was because the bouilon wasn't diluted. so my fault. the soup definately have a "fake" cheese taste not that i was suprised but i added two handfulls of mild cheddar cheese and it gave it a nice flavor. I'll definately make it again. Its pretty thick so maybe next time i'll add more milk. Going to use the leftovers for baked potatoes. I think that will be great together.

Carrot Pie

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2011
well i just made this, i cut the recipe in half and baked it in a custard cup (no crust). I was slightly shy a cup of carrots and only used 1/4 cup sugar and 1/4 cup milk, the vanilla was closer to a tsp and i added more cinnamon and i added nutmeg, will probably add some ginger or cloves. or pumpkin pie spice for easier baking. I mixed everything together and blended up in the blended. came out smoothe. I baked it for 10 mins at 400 and its cooked about 10-12 mins at 350. Its alot cheaper alternative to pumpkin pie. will definately make again. Thanks alot for the recipe!

Grandma's Noodles II

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2010
I really wish they had half star option because to me its really more like a 4 1/2 stars. I needed to add extra milk (almost 1/4 cup) to get the dough to get like its suppose to. I rolled the noodles out thin and i left out the baking powder. They took awhile longer to cook then what i thought but They turned out well. I just wished i had something to compare it too. My two year old loved the noodles in his soup and they looked exactly as pictured.

Crazy Crust Pizza Dough

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2010
it was ok. It did in a pinch. I used 1 egg like most reviewers suggested. I can't imagine it having another egg in it. I'm going to try again, next time i'm going to spread the dough out on a baking sheet as thin as i can get it to see if that help. (update) I cut this recipe in half and spread it out really thin (almost see through) on a insulated baking sheet. It came out alot better then my last attempt. I fully baked it then put the toppings on and just waited for the cheese to melt and warm toppings. I've made it at least twice last week.
