Old-Fashioned Vanilla Pudding

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2010
this just didn't work for me. I did use fat free milk but i've successfully made rice pudding with it with no problem in richness. Its not really that sweet either for my taste.

Hot Vanilla

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2010
Not bad i used splenda and fat free milk. i didn't measure the cinnamon. and only used 3/4 tsp of vanilla. I'm pretty sure i wouldn't have liked it with the full amount. Its a very comforting drink.

Buttermilk Oatmeal Muffins

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2010
I liked these muffins. I didn't follow the directions exactly . I accidently added oatmeal to the sugar/oil/egg mix instead of the sour mix i had sitting next to the bowl. So i just decided to mix everything together. It seemed a bit too wet but i let it sit for a few minutes and it thickened up nice. I added some chocolate chips to the top of some and some cranberries one the others and left some plain. I found them a tiny bit too salty but no one else thought so. My kids loved them.

Grandma's Noodles II

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2010
I really wish they had half star option because to me its really more like a 4 1/2 stars. I needed to add extra milk (almost 1/4 cup) to get the dough to get like its suppose to. I rolled the noodles out thin and i left out the baking powder. They took awhile longer to cook then what i thought but They turned out well. I just wished i had something to compare it too. My two year old loved the noodles in his soup and they looked exactly as pictured.

Oatmeal Animal Crackers

Reviewed: Nov. 22, 2010
These were okay. I scaled the recipe down to make a dozen cookies (i got 16). I didn't get a sticky dough like alot of reviewers did. My dough was really dry i had to press it together with more water. They tasted overly sweet to us. I think the most powerful review came from my 2yr old. He took a bite then handed it back to me. He's never done that to anything i've baked before.

Sarah's Applesauce

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2010
i'm not sure how many apples i had. I had a big bag of presliced apples that were heading bad that i picked through the good ones and i had 1 large granny smith apple. I used 4 pkgs of slenda and kinda eye balled the cinnimon. I did have to add more water and the granny smith took a bit of time to get smushable. I just left them chunky. It turned out really good. I would buy apples just for this recipe. Its really comforting warm.

Creamy Rice Pudding

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2010
I've made this twice in about a week and a half. It was my first time making anything like this. My first attempt i used long grain rice (all i have) i cooked it separately (1/2 cup dried rice to 1 cup water cooked up 1 1/2 cups of rice) Used the same pan and added milk (fatfree). I took the tip of waiting to put the sugar in till after your rice is tender. It took a bit of time and stirring alot. The fat free milk thickened quite well. I used splenda (it was ok in the recipe) but when it came down to adding the egg. I did temper it but i guess i didn't do well enough. I had bits of egg in the pudding. The second attempt. I made sure i beat the egg and milk together well and kept it in a pot on low heat to help make sure i had no eggs in the pudding. I used regular sugar its awhole lot better (imo) but it is sweet so it might not be good for some people. It did cook awhile but ended up with perfect pudding. I also used margerine instead of butter. and no raisins to to preference.

Roasted Pumpkin Seeds

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2010
i did try the boiling in salted water method first then dried them out overnight. I used butter and some oil and salt. I had to split the seeds in two batches to make sure they weren't all on top of each other. They turned out very nice.

Crazy Crust Pizza Dough

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2010
it was ok. It did in a pinch. I used 1 egg like most reviewers suggested. I can't imagine it having another egg in it. I'm going to try again, next time i'm going to spread the dough out on a baking sheet as thin as i can get it to see if that help. (update) I cut this recipe in half and spread it out really thin (almost see through) on a insulated baking sheet. It came out alot better then my last attempt. I fully baked it then put the toppings on and just waited for the cheese to melt and warm toppings. I've made it at least twice last week.

Libby's® Famous Pumpkin Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2010
its a classic recipe. I like to add 1/2 tsp of nutmeg to the spices. Also this is good with all white sugar, all brown sugar, or a mix of both. You really can't go wrong. I've even used a subsitute for evaporated milk with no problem. 2/3rd cup nonfat powder milk to 3/4cup water makes 8oz of evaporated milk. 1/3cup powder milk to 1/2 cup + 1/8th cup of water , mix together to make 4oz.

Well i changed this recipe slightly. I used walnuts and halve the recipe to just make a few bars since no one else in the house like nuts. Turned out fantasctic.

Chocolate Syrup

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2010
It had a nice flavor but unfortunately it never thickened up. I cooked it awhile on the stove but i didn't want to burn the chocolate. I read that other reviewers stated it thickened up overnight in the frigde. That didn't happen with mine. Oh well I think i'll try adding some cornstarch with the cocoa like another reviewer suggested.

Campbell's® Slow Cooker Hearty Beef and Bean Chili

well i halved this recipe to fit a 1 1/2 qt slow cooker. I cooked this on low for the time stated and it was burnt around the sides. It does need a lot more spices for my taste my bf thought it was good. It tasted a whole lot better the next day.

I just made half the recipe and used margering instead of butter. They turned out great. Perfect little cookies. I normally bake The Big,Fat, Chewy Chocolate Chip cookie recipe, (which we all really like) my bf said this recipe had a better flavor to him.

Baked Oatmeal Squares

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2010
well i finally got around making this recipe. I made as written except for the nuts and raisins. I'm the only one who likes nuts so i just sprinkled a few on top of a few pieces. I'm out of raisins so i just added a few frozen cranberries. I really loved the flavor of this recipe, but like the majority it didn't hold up just crumbled. The verdict i'd probably make it again. Maybe i'll try adding some flour to see if that helps hold them together.

Kelsey's Favorite Stuffed Green Peppers

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2010
I used 3 medium sized peppers so i reduce the filling slightly. Using 1lb of meat and maybe 2/3 cup of rice. I kept the amount of tomato sauce the same. It barely covered the meat and rice so i didn't simmer the mixture. It is really bland mix. I put a ton of spices in, (salt, pepper, garlic powder, cayenne pepper and chili powder) I just couldn't get it season enough for myself. My bf don't care for stuffed peppers to begin with thought it was good.
