Italian Spaghetti Sauce with Meatballs

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2011
This recipe tasted like authentic sauce with meatballs! It was fantastic! I did not have dried parsely so I left that out for the meatballs and added dried oregano....I HIGHLY recommend that change!! I also used 1 can whole tomatoes and 1 can diced. At the end of cooking, I added a lot more sugar. I like my sauce a little sweet (like how Prego tastes). You can add more spices at the end to taste if you want it spicer, more sugar, basil, garlic, etc. I served this with angel hair & garlic bread. The only thing I was sad about was that I ran out of meatballs and has a lot of sauce left over. The meatballs were excellent. Thanks so much for this recipe! I can now impress with homemade sauce instead of alwasy using a jar!

Broiled Tilapia Parmesan

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2011
My roommate had made this and I tried a bite & loved it. This recipe it great as is! We did not have celery salt, so we used celery seed. I served it with Rice A Roni's parmesan/romano rice with a side of steamed broccoli..yum! I will try adding garlic powder, old bay, and panko breadcrumbs next time to see how that tastes as well. My boyfriend LOVED this and ate it up 2 days in a row! Great for a light meal!

Rempel Family Meatloaf

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2011
I had never eaten meatloaf let alone made it before. I saw that this recipe looked simple so I tried it. It was super easy. I added the ketchup/honey/worchester glaze that an other reviewer put on here (I doubled it). I think it would have been boring without out it! I enjoyed it & served it with mashed potatoes. It was very watery/greasy from the fat draining from the meat-I will have to try to drain it next time. It did fall apart a little, but who cares?! Not my favorite recipe on here, but definetly a keeper for easy/cheap dinner ideas. Thanks!

Three Cheese Garlic Scalloped Potatoes

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2011
I am giving this a 2 star rating because it didn't work out, but the flavor wasn't bad. I sliced the potatoes paper thing with a mandolin, and they were still not cooked after the hour of cooking. I increased the heat to 400 and baked for an extra half hour & they came out soft, yet al dente. My rooommate makes scalloped potatoes and it said to cook at 400 for 1 1/2 hours. That is a big difference from what the instructions say here! The heavy cream was waaaaaay too much! It made a layer on top of cream and oil from the cheese & butter. The whole dish was swimming in liquid. After I placed the leftovers in the fridge, I scraped off the 1/2 inch layer of hardened cream on top! The flavors are not bad. I sliced the garlic thin, and I added thin slices of white onion. I even added more cheese than called for & it was just an average amount of cheese. I might try making this again with 1/2 the amount of cream, more cheese, and higher/longer cooking time.

Quick and Simple Broccoli and Cheese

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2010
I used this recipe for more ideas and guidelines. I bought a 12 oz bag of broccoli florets that I could just steam in the bag (SO much easier, and only a few cents more). I melted the butter and tossed the cooked broccoli with it. I did not want to spend the $ on velveeta because I would only use a little for this & the rest would sit in my fridge. I always have kraft american slices, so i melted 5 slices on top & mixed it together with a little pepper (no need for salt because its in the butter & cheese already). I started out with 2 slices then had to keep adding more til I got to 5 to get the right amount of cheese. I agree with some other reviewers that cheddar just doesn't sound like it would taste as good as processed cheese. We enjoyed it very much!

Tomato Chicken Parmesan

Reviewed: Jun. 15, 2010
This recipe is awesome. I only changed the monterey jack cheese to fresh mozzarella slice to melt on top. Everytime I have made this people love it! I always serve it with angel hair pasta & my favorite homemade garlic bread. Fantastic!

Chicken Cordon Bleu I

Reviewed: Jun. 15, 2010
This is my boyfriend's favorite meal. The only thing I have done that was a little different was add more ham if the ham you buy is very thin. I coat the entire breast with the breadcrumbs and then roll up the ham & swiss. I took another reviewer's advice and added a pat of butter on top before backing which really helps keep the chicken moist. I tried someone's sauce recipe with chicken soup and sour cream..I did not care for it! Last night I made some hollindase sauce and poured that on top & it was even better! Try the hollindase sauce if you want added flavor!

Balsamic Bruschetta

Reviewed: Jun. 8, 2010
This recipe was pretty good. I thought it was very fresh and healthy. I love the brushetta from BJ's restaraunt because its soaked in balsamic vinegar like this one. You should listen to the author's advice and let everything sit for 1-2 ours in the frindge to let everything marinate. I served this over a sliced french baguette. wonderful!

Slow Cooker Pulled Pork

Reviewed: Jun. 8, 2010
I was AMAZED at how wonderful and easy this recipe was. I bought a 3 pound pork loin for $6 and some change from a nice grocery store. I think it is definetly worth buying the leaner cut to save on fat because it is still moist & delicious. I followed all the steps exactly on here & I wouldn't change a thing. I used Sweet Baby Ray's award winning BBQ sauce & there did not have to be any additional seasonings like garlic powder or S&P. I cooked the pork for 6 hrs on low, drained it, shredded it, and cooked with the BBQ sauce for 1 hour. I served it on potato buns as is. I will be making this often, and I think it would be great for sliders for appetizers on the mini Kings Hawaiian Rolls.

Bahama Mama

Reviewed: Jun. 8, 2010
This drink was easy to make, refreshing, and tasted great. I used the dole pineapple, orange, banana juice to make it easier & save room in my fridge. I think that if you use pineapple juice & OJ it might have a stronger fruity taste than the dole juice. I will definetly be making this all summer long. thanks!

Thousand Island Dressing II

Reviewed: Jun. 7, 2010
I never liked thousand island unless it was on in & out burgers until I discovered it in a restaraunt while finding something to dip fries in. I did not want to buy it out of a bottle because it always seemed nasty so I searched this site. This recipe is soooo easy and it's very tasty. I make it all the time now for my french fries, burgers, and sandwiches. Thank you!

Absolutely Fabulous Greek/House Dressing

Reviewed: Jun. 7, 2010
After seeing all the rave reviews I decided to try this dressing. It was good, but not as crazy awesome as everyone makes it out to be. It seemed a little salty to me. I also agree with another reviewer that you should add some sugar. I will have to do that next time. I ate this with a salad with feta, red onion, and tomatoes. I think this dressing would be great on a pasta salad or even a snadwich.

Deviled Eggs

Reviewed: Jun. 7, 2010
The best deviled eggs I have ever eaten. Every single person I have made this for loves them and eats 6 or more. I have had many requests for this recipe and it's spreading like wildfire with friends and friends of friends lol. I eat them for breakfast and make them for parties. I use smoked paprika on them. I find it has a better flavor than regular paprika. Thank you! enjoy!

Chicken Marsala

Reviewed: Apr. 1, 2010
I love chicken marsala, but I was sad when I lost the recipe that I loved. I searched this website & found this well-rated recipe. I made it for my boyfriend and I for dinner, and it was NOT GOOD. He commented on how it had no flavor & was watery. Thank god I found my original favorite chicken marsala recipe days later. I made that version & my loved it. I will have to post it on here because I DO NOT recommend this one.

My Crab Cakes

Reviewed: Apr. 21, 2009
This recipe is definetly great. I added another can of crab because more is better :) i also needed to add a bit more mayo and i use panko breadcrumbs. someone posted a recipe for a great aioli below with mayo, garlic, and lemon juice. it was excellent with the crab cakes! i omitted the cayenne pepper because i am sensitive to spicy food. i also used 25 ritz crackers..almost a whole sleeve. i never sauted the green onions either, i just put them in raw..just as good.
