Sarah's Applesauce

Reviewed: Aug. 25, 2013
I made this recipe tonight with apples from our apple tree that are very sweet and very tart. I omitted the sugar like other reviewers suggested, but it turned out incredibly tangy. So we added the sugar back in and cooked for 5 more minutes. OMG - its delicious now! Don't alter the recipe!

Blueberry Yogurt Pound Cake

Reviewed: Aug. 12, 2013
I didn't have a box of cake mix, so I substituted 1-1/2 cups of flour, 1/2 cup of white sugar and 1-3/4 teas of baking powder. Plus I added half a box of vanilla pudding mix since the recipe called for a pudding cake mix. Otherwise I followed the directions exactly. I followed other reviewers suggestions and tossed the blueberries in flour instead of the cinnamon. Plus I only folded in half of the blueberries, then stuffed the rest on top after I poured it into the pan. The finished product was a little moist around the blueberries, otherwise it turned out perfect! The taste was amazing! And the blueberries were fairly well dispursed. My husband who is an overly picky eater can't stop picking at it. That earns an instant 5 stars!

I cut the eggplant 1/2 inch thick and it still turned out great!

Leftover Meatloaf Tater Tot Casserole

Reviewed: Apr. 17, 2011
This was excellent! We used frozen hashbrowns instead of tater tots and it worked perfectly. The only negative was that we had to cook it twice as long for it to be hot in the middle. But the taste was great!

Chicken Enchiladas I

Reviewed: Mar. 2, 2011
This had excellent flavor and texture. I read the other reviews that said this was soupy, so I left out the water and added a teaspoon of flour to thicken the sauce. It was FABULOUS! My husband loved it too.

Chicken Cordon Bleu I

Reviewed: Apr. 16, 2010
Followed the recipe exactly, but we also made the cream of chicken soup/sour cream sauce that other reviewers suggested. The recipe by itself was good, but the sauce kicked it into amazing. The sauce is a necessity.

Sweet Pretzel Stacks

Reviewed: Apr. 16, 2010
These taste really good for about the first 30 minutes, then the pretzels get stale and they aren't worth eating.

Can't believe how wonderful this frosting tastes! I followed the recipe exactly and I'm surprised I didn't eat it all before it made it to the cupcakes! So good and so easy! This recipe is a keeper!

Creamy Potato Lasagna

Reviewed: Apr. 16, 2010
The recipe seems to be missing a few steps, but the end result was very tasty. A bit labor intensive. Probably won't make it again.

Chicken Wellington Casserole

Reviewed: Apr. 16, 2010
Soooooo good!!! After we ate all of the first round for dinner, my husband and I made a ton more of the filling to freeze for later. We added peas and just wrapped them in store bought croissant dough. Delish!

Veggie Delight on Garlic Bread

Reviewed: Apr. 16, 2010
Very tasty! A little on the oily side and I probably will use all zucchini instead of eggplant next time. But overall pretty good. I made this as a meal, but i think it would make a much better appetizer for guests.

Pretty good. I'm not sure what I did wrong, but they tasted a little "egg-y" to me.

Jalapeno Poppers I

Reviewed: Apr. 16, 2010
Excellent recipe. Everyone loved them! Wear rubber gloves and eye protection when scraping out the peppers though - very important detail we missed the first time we made these!

Sausage Jalapeno Poppers

Reviewed: Apr. 16, 2010
Very labor intensive, but worth it. I made mine the day before and just refrigerated them uncooked and that caused no problems. I added some cheddar and green onions like other reviews suggested and they turned out amazing! I've never had a recipe be the star of a bbq and everyone asked for the recipe but this one did the trick. We cooked 1/2 on the grill (indirect heat) and 1/2 in the oven. The ones on the grill cooked faster (about 10 minutes) and had a nice grill taste to them. But the ones from the oven definitely weren't snubbed. I scrapped the peppers clean of seeds and white ribbing and they turned out very mild - like we like them. Wear rubber gloves and eye protection when scraping out the jalapenos! You'll be sorry if you don't. It took me about 2 hours to prepare 60 of these, so these will probably only come out on special occasions.
