Classic Bran Muffins

Reviewed: Apr. 11, 2009
I used applesauce instead of oil. They were moist but still kinda grainy. Maybe I should use less bran. I used fat-free buttermilk.

Apricot Chicken I

Reviewed: May 23, 2009
I don't like onions so I think that's why this recipe just doesn't agree with me. I thought using the soup mix would be ok but I just ate it and feel nauseous. Hubby likes onions but he didn't care for this either. I used the catalina fat-free dressing and sugar free apricot preserves like one of the reviewers suggested.

Iced Pumpkin Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 20, 2009
The first time I made these, they came out sooo good! For some reason the 2nd time I made them, they were only ok. Not sure what I did wrong. I gave them as gifts the first time and everyone loved them!

Boiled Bagels

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2010
I followed the directions but made 8 instead of 12 like reviewers suggested. After I shaped them into bagels, they rose beautifully! They looked great but after the water bath, they were all wrinkled and looked horrible. I was hoping after baking, they'd look like bagels again but they didn't.

Pumpkin Oat Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 17, 2010
I love this recipe! It is so moist and "pumpkiny"! I substitued natural applesauce for the oil. If it wasn't for all the sugar, it would be almost good for you! :) I made 1 regular loaf and 3 mini loaves. That works out best for me.

Excellent and Healthy Cornbread

Reviewed: Aug. 18, 2011
I didn't have yogurt so I used 1c. sour cream. They were ok hot out of the oven but I didn't care for them the next day. Hubby, who loves corn bread, didn't think they were that great either. They're waiting on the counter to be thrown in the disposal. :(

Pepperoni Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 6, 2012
I used the Pillbury French Bread in my first attempt. I thought I could roll this out to be a rectangle but couldn't seem to. It was too narrow and long. So I cut it in half widthwise and made it wider that way. It didn't "look" that good as the seam where I joined the two came apart. :( However, my husband LOVED it! My next attempt was using the Pillsbury Pizza dough. This rolled out nicely to a rectangle. My husband still liked it but it didn't have quite the same taste as the French bread. If I make it again (which I most likely will), I'll either use the French bread or try making bread from scratch.

They are just ok. They are kind of dry so maybe I didn't do something right.

Golden Knots

Reviewed: Jun. 25, 2014
These are AMAZING!! I halved the recipe and used rapid rise yeast like another reviewer said. I also put the covered bowl on a heating pad to rise so I only had to wait about 45 min instead of an hour. After putting the knots on my baking sheet, I put them back on the heating pad to rise again. I brushed them with butter when they were done. Wow!! They are so good! My husband saw them and said "Please tell me you didn't make these for someone else!" Nope, all for the two of us! :) We both had 4 each straight out of the oven! Good thing I halved the recipe because they are super addicting. Just enough sweetness to remind me of the rolls that Chick-Fil-A uses in their minis.

Urban Legend Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Sep. 26, 2014
These were ok. With all the great reviews, I was expecting them to be the best cookies ever but they were just ok. I didn't add the shaved chocolate or nuts though so maybe that was the difference?
