I love shrimp, but have generally shied away from cooking them myself, fearing that I'd spend a lot of money on ingredients but not be able to cook them the way they should be prepared. I made this recipe exactly as published- no omissions or substitutions. Having the video as a resource really helped my confidence! I made this meal for my boyfriend and best friend last night and it was excellent. I served the shrimp with spaghetti noodles and toasted garlic bread. The only issues I had with the recipe were, first, that I felt the oil was a bit too hot for the garlic (I had to turn my heat down before the recipe says to do so to prevent burning), and that I think it calls for a smidge too much butter- I'll probably reduce it by 25% or so next time I make this dish. Other than that, the recipe was easy to follow and it produced a delicious and GORGEOUS meal. Although it is incredibly rich and therefore a "special occasions" recipe, I will definitely be making this again, especially when looking for a meal that impresses.
Just FYI for other beginner/infrequent chefs out there- this dish really does require you to get all your ingredients together and pre-measured before beginning to cook.
