Real N'awlins Muffuletta

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2001
The olive salad was a huge hit at a tailgate party. I am making it again as a gift for family who loved it. As close to the original Central Grocery olive salad as I have tasted. A keeper!

Acapulco Margarita Grouper

Reviewed: Feb. 25, 2002
I used some fresh amberjack from our trip to Islamorada. This was a big hit and we will serve it again. Have shared this with others. Served grilled corn on the cob from my freezer full of local produce. With a salad with key lime vinaigrette, AWESOME!!

Asian Salad

Reviewed: Aug. 1, 2004
A big hit with all my guests. I, also, cut the sugar and the oil, but I add about 1 tsp. sesame oil. Adds tons of flavor. Have used Napa and bagged slaw mix. I use rice wine vinegar, plain, not seasoned. Adding grilled chicken chunks makes this a complete meal and is good leftover.

Chinese Napa Cabbage Salad

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2005
I have tried several of these "chinese slaw" recipes. This is the best. the addition of the sesame oil makes a world of difference. It has been a requested recipe, even by people who already make a version of this. I keep the 3 components in separate containers in the frig and mix it up as I feel the urge. It stays crunchy and is a great quick lunch or dinner side dish. A BIG hit at gatherings, too.

Different Chicken Divan

Reviewed: Feb. 17, 2005
Very Good! Better than an old recipe that I have used for years. Mine did not have cayenne. I used 1T. curry, it was just right. I used only 1 can soup, it was just right, but the cayenne may need to be cut down for others because using less soup may not stretch the cayenne far enough. It had a good kick. Several other diners liked it "just like I fixed it."

Banana Wheat Bread

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2006
Very tasty. I, also, used applesauce in stead of oil. I baked muffins for 15 minutes in 350 convection oven. I lined the muffin pans with flax flour. It made 18 muffins.

Favorite Hamburger Bites

Reviewed: Aug. 20, 2007
I make these without the minced onion and I do not put mayoor cheese in it. I make the small burgers and broil them till done, place on a small dinner roll with mustard, pickle and cheese on top, not in it. The tray is covered with potato sticks to be the "french fries" with the burgers on top and they taste just like KRYSTALS!! YUM and a huge hit.

Quick and Easy Pimento Cheese

Reviewed: Feb. 26, 2007
Southerners use real Mayo, like Duke's or Hellman's. this calls for more pimiento than needed, use half as much. Adding a little cayenne is great, too.

Tomato Pie II

Reviewed: Aug. 24, 2007
Fresh basil takes this to a whole different level. Slice the tomatoes thick so they stay somewhat firm. I always add a touch of thinly sliced Vidalia onion or scallion. Tomato Pie for brunch is always a great summer treat with the good homegrown tomatoes! It should not taste like pizza!
