WANTED! Are you a savvy home cook who is equally comfortable in front of the camera as you are whipping up a tasty meal at the stove?

Allrecipes is searching for home cooks to represent its brand and become a “face of Allrecipes.com!” through TV/video.

To be selected, you need to be an experienced, confident cook with a strong understanding of cooking skills and techniques, living in the greater New York City metro area, with a passion for Allrecipes. You will also have on-camera TV experience and/or video cooking experience. If this sounds like you, please submit your résumé, a current head shot, a link to your videos so we can see in you action and get to know you better, and, in 200 words or less, tell us why you think you’d be a good fit for this role. If you have a blog, YouTube channel, or an Allrecipes member profile, we would love to see these, too.

Does this mean that AR is going to start their own cooking channel? I hope so because I think it would be a HUGE success! I've been asking for this for a LONG time!

I love watching the food channel, but it would be so much fun to see some new faces. I'd love to see other allrecipes.com members on TV! What a great idea!

Please don't make the mistake of limiting your population sample of American cooks to only those from the NYC area. Let's see how they compare to American cooks who are currently living in other countries (due to corporate reasons, not military). It's a hard transition for transferred Americans to provide day-to-day meals for their families while under contract to a foreign country. At first, it sounds glamourous to hear you'll be living in Europe, but when the reality sets in, that you'll be paying (what amounts to $9/pound for hamburger, and $5/pound for chicken) a lot to get dinner on the table, well, those people will need help. Best of luck with your endeavor, Lauren Rowell

About Me
Allrecipes.com is the world’s largest food site created entirely from contributions from talented home cooks. Allrecipes was first introduced in 1997 by five college students who loved cookies and had the early vision the web would be a fantastic place for people to find and share everyday food ideas. Twelve years later, Allrecipes.com is home to an amazing community where millions of recipes, reviews, ratings, photos, and blog postings spanning all types of ingredients, dish types, occasions and cooking styles are viewed and shared daily. Allrecipes grows every day as the community continues to share new ideas and experiences. Along with the original site, Allrecipes now has communities for home cooks in Australia/NZ, China, France, Germany, and the UK/Ireland. (Check them out! You’ll find links at the very bottom of this page.) For cooks on the go, Allrecipes is available free on the iPhone via the Allrecipes.com Dinner Spinner app, and web enabled phones at m.allrecipes.com.
My favorite things to cook
Everything and anything! Allrecipes community is an amazing resource for discovering all types of dishes and treats
My favorite family cooking traditions
All of them! How could anyone choose? All year long our community is cooking and celebrating seasonal holidays and special family occasions. Even the dinners we all have to get on the table every night can be a cherished tradition—or will seem so once the kids are grown.
My cooking triumphs
The millions of recipe choices, the tips and advice, the support and encouragement to try new things or rediscover old favorites make using this site a constant joy.
My cooking tragedies
Who doesn’t have these? Too many to tell really, but from each disaster there’s something to learn and laugh about. Cooking is meant to be an adventure!
