Last week’s most popular new recipe was Tater Tot Taco Casserole. Way to go Mama Smith!

Ramadan begins in a few days, as do our new Ramadan-friendly recipes. Almond Sherbet is not a frozen dessert, rather a sweet milk drink commonly made in Sri Lanka. Grandma cooks from scratch when she makes Grandmother's Lamb Recipe. Kashmiri chile peppers are ground to a paste with toasted cumin seeds and garlic, forming the spicy base for the braised lamb shanks central to this dish.

Other good looking dishes this week include Cherry Glazed Salmon, a nice way to broil salmon fillets using a tangy cherry sauce. Seasoned chicken breast pieces are simmered in a chipotle pepper-sour cream sauce in Chipotle Cream Chicken. Get excited with Swiss chard this week! Roasted Swiss Chard with Feta uses the colorful rainbow chard assortment in the farmers’ market now to create a simple, savory side dish.

That tator tot casserole sounds really yummy! I love the tator tot casserole with the sauce made from cream of ____ soup (I usually use cream of chicken) and topped with cheese. Don't know why I never thought of a Mexican style version. I'm glad somebody else did so now I can try it!

About Me
Allrecipes.com is the world’s largest food site created entirely from contributions from talented home cooks. Allrecipes was first introduced in 1997 by five college students who loved cookies and had the early vision the web would be a fantastic place for people to find and share everyday food ideas. Twelve years later, Allrecipes.com is home to an amazing community where millions of recipes, reviews, ratings, photos, and blog postings spanning all types of ingredients, dish types, occasions and cooking styles are viewed and shared daily. Allrecipes grows every day as the community continues to share new ideas and experiences. Along with the original site, Allrecipes now has communities for home cooks in Australia/NZ, China, France, Germany, and the UK/Ireland. (Check them out! You’ll find links at the very bottom of this page.) For cooks on the go, Allrecipes is available free on the iPhone via the Allrecipes.com Dinner Spinner app, and web enabled phones at m.allrecipes.com.
My favorite things to cook
Everything and anything! Allrecipes community is an amazing resource for discovering all types of dishes and treats
My favorite family cooking traditions
All of them! How could anyone choose? All year long our community is cooking and celebrating seasonal holidays and special family occasions. Even the dinners we all have to get on the table every night can be a cherished tradition—or will seem so once the kids are grown.
My cooking triumphs
The millions of recipe choices, the tips and advice, the support and encouragement to try new things or rediscover old favorites make using this site a constant joy.
My cooking tragedies
Who doesn’t have these? Too many to tell really, but from each disaster there’s something to learn and laugh about. Cooking is meant to be an adventure!
