New recipes for the week of April 29, 2011

Last week’s most popular new recipe was Fruit Salad for Easter Sunday. Way to go Shastina Blaylock!

Get ready for Cinco with Mexican Street Vendor Style Corn Salad, a side dish inspired by grilled corn cobs covered with mayonnaise and cotija cheese. Papa Rellenas (Fried Stuffed Potatoes) are a  childhood memory for one cook. Cumin-seasoned ground beef and onions are stuffed into mashed potatoes, and deep fried to a crispy golden-brown. Take the time to prepare Al Pastor Barbeque Sauce, and your grilled meats will never be the same!  Four dried chiles are carefully prepared with pineapple juice and mango juice into a fiery sauce over several days.

About Me
Allrecipes.com is the world’s largest food site created entirely from contributions from talented home cooks. Allrecipes was first introduced in 1997 by five college students who loved cookies and had the early vision the web would be a fantastic place for people to find and share everyday food ideas. Twelve years later, Allrecipes.com is home to an amazing community where millions of recipes, reviews, ratings, photos, and blog postings spanning all types of ingredients, dish types, occasions and cooking styles are viewed and shared daily. Allrecipes grows every day as the community continues to share new ideas and experiences. Along with the original site, Allrecipes now has communities for home cooks in Australia/NZ, China, France, Germany, and the UK/Ireland. (Check them out! You’ll find links at the very bottom of this page.) For cooks on the go, Allrecipes is available free on the iPhone via the Allrecipes.com Dinner Spinner app, and web enabled phones at m.allrecipes.com.
My favorite things to cook
Everything and anything! Allrecipes community is an amazing resource for discovering all types of dishes and treats
My favorite family cooking traditions
All of them! How could anyone choose? All year long our community is cooking and celebrating seasonal holidays and special family occasions. Even the dinners we all have to get on the table every night can be a cherished tradition—or will seem so once the kids are grown.
My cooking triumphs
The millions of recipe choices, the tips and advice, the support and encouragement to try new things or rediscover old favorites make using this site a constant joy.
My cooking tragedies
Who doesn’t have these? Too many to tell really, but from each disaster there’s something to learn and laugh about. Cooking is meant to be an adventure!
