New recipes for the week of November 12, 2010

Last week’s most popular new recipe is Gorgonzola Stuffed Chicken Breasts Wrapped in Bacon. Way to go witchywoman!

We have some great new recipes this week, perfect for your Thanksgiving table! For starters, let’s soak your turkey in Salty and Sweet Cranberry Citrus Brine. This delicious blend of citrus and herbs sends the flavor all the way through the meat while tinting the skin a lovely shade of pink! Apricot nectar, orange zest, and pecans make Apricot-Pecan Sweet Potatoes a worthy co-star to the pink turkey. Round it out with Ohio Tomato Pudding, a sweet and buttery side dish also flavored with a bit of citrus.

So, do you serve your pumpkin pie with ice cream or whipped cream? I see some of you raised your hands to both. Well, scoot the pie over a bit to make some room on your plate for Pumpkin Frozen Yogurt! Brandy and vanilla join pumpkin pie spice and a healthy amount of pumpkin in this frozen treat. Ok, sure, go ahead and serve it with ice cream and whipped cream too!

It’s not quite pumpkin and turkey time yet, so you might want to give a few of these recipes a try in the meantime:  Seared Scallops with Sweet Potato Soup is a perfect recipe for fall. In the words of the submitter, “the savory scallops complement the slightly sweet soup.” Pieces of chopped raw broccoli stud Garlicky Quinoa and Garbanzo Bean Salad. Mushroom-topped seared chicken breasts are sprinkled with toasted almonds and bacon bits in the delicious Chicken Breasts in a Sour Cream and Wine Sauce.

About Me is the world’s largest food site created entirely from contributions from talented home cooks. Allrecipes was first introduced in 1997 by five college students who loved cookies and had the early vision the web would be a fantastic place for people to find and share everyday food ideas. Twelve years later, is home to an amazing community where millions of recipes, reviews, ratings, photos, and blog postings spanning all types of ingredients, dish types, occasions and cooking styles are viewed and shared daily. Allrecipes grows every day as the community continues to share new ideas and experiences. Along with the original site, Allrecipes now has communities for home cooks in Australia/NZ, China, France, Germany, and the UK/Ireland. (Check them out! You’ll find links at the very bottom of this page.) For cooks on the go, Allrecipes is available free on the iPhone via the Dinner Spinner app, and web enabled phones at
