Hi there Allrecipeeps!

It's me - Elizabeth. I hope all of you are having a great week so far!

Did you know that Allrecipes has thousands of recipes which do not have photos? Those poor recipes! And some of them have been on the site since the beginning!

Well, we want to change that - but we can't, not without your help! So, lets have a contest  - you win prizes, and the 'faceless recipes' as Pam-3BoysMama has dubbed them, win your fantastic photos! Don't worry - I already made sure Pam didn't mind if we used her idea.:)

Here is how it works: every two weeks, we will post a list of 50 recipes that need photos. For every photo you submit of one of the below recipes, your name will go into a drawing. After the end of the two weeks, we will draw a winner for a 2 year Supporting Membership. Already a Supporting Member? Get two years tacked on - or, we will send you one of our cookbooks and some more shopping bags (you can decide!). Who knows? You might even find some new favorites! Feel free to review these, too!

So... here are the first recipes:

Happy cooking and photographing!

YAY, Pam!!!

Awe POO! It is all bread and sweets which I do not eat but I'll keep watching. This is a great idea because I think every recipe needs a photo so people can get an idea of what the end result is supposed to look like. I tend to lean towards ones with no photos so thanks for bringing some fun into it.

No computer connection to my digital camera so I can't put photos on the site. I had heard that I can use a "memory card". Maybe thats why I never hear anything with all my submitted recipes.

Very cool! I'm in. I've done several and am not intimidated at all to try a recipe without a picture.

Oct. 4, 2010 9:47 pm
well that came out all wrong. It should be "I've made many recipes in the past without faces"....not that I've made several of the above already.

I just made PAXIMADE. What a great simple recipe. I wasn't sure about it but figured I'd be open and give it a try ... What's the worse that could happen ... It wouldn't be good? I've made many things that nobody would eat but this was very much enjoyed and worthy of being photographed. I hope more people consider trying it.

About Me
Allrecipes.com is the world’s largest food site created entirely from contributions from talented home cooks. Allrecipes was first introduced in 1997 by five college students who loved cookies and had the early vision the web would be a fantastic place for people to find and share everyday food ideas. Twelve years later, Allrecipes.com is home to an amazing community where millions of recipes, reviews, ratings, photos, and blog postings spanning all types of ingredients, dish types, occasions and cooking styles are viewed and shared daily. Allrecipes grows every day as the community continues to share new ideas and experiences. Along with the original site, Allrecipes now has communities for home cooks in Australia/NZ, China, France, Germany, and the UK/Ireland. (Check them out! You’ll find links at the very bottom of this page.) For cooks on the go, Allrecipes is available free on the iPhone via the Allrecipes.com Dinner Spinner app, and web enabled phones at m.allrecipes.com.
My favorite things to cook
Everything and anything! Allrecipes community is an amazing resource for discovering all types of dishes and treats
My favorite family cooking traditions
All of them! How could anyone choose? All year long our community is cooking and celebrating seasonal holidays and special family occasions. Even the dinners we all have to get on the table every night can be a cherished tradition—or will seem so once the kids are grown.
My cooking triumphs
The millions of recipe choices, the tips and advice, the support and encouragement to try new things or rediscover old favorites make using this site a constant joy.
My cooking tragedies
Who doesn’t have these? Too many to tell really, but from each disaster there’s something to learn and laugh about. Cooking is meant to be an adventure!
