Hi there Allrecipeeps!

GREAT news! Allrecipes has just launched our new iPhone App – the Allrecipes Dinner Spinner PRO. Over two million home cooks downloaded the Dinner Spinner, and we took their feedback and designed the Dinner Spinner PRO with you, the home cooking community, (and making your lives easier!) in mind.

The Dinner Spinner Pro can do everything the FREE Dinner Spinner can do: search our top recipes by ingredient or nutrition information, email recipes you find, see selected ratings and reviews and view recipe photos. But, it can also do MUCH more! Including:

·   Search Allrecipes.com’s entire database of recipes

·   Search for recipes including (or excluding) up to 8 ingredients

·   Search for and save recipes to your online Allrecipes.com recipe box

·   View your entire Allrecipes recipe box, including folders

·   Organize your recipe box on the go, by quickly and easily moving recipes into folders

·   Create, save and share shopping lists – even updating serving sizes on recipes!

·   View shopping lists created from your computer on Allrecipes.com

·   Share recipes via email AND to other Dinner Spinner users via Bluetooth!

·   See ALL recipe ratings and reviews

·   Rate recipes right from your phone!

·   Easily upload your own recipe photos directly to Allrecipes.com from the Dinner Spinner PRO

·   View instructions in a ‘Kitchen Friendly’ format – with larger directions, step by step!

The Dinner Spinner PRO is now available in the iTunes App store for your iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad, for $2.99. Click here to see a comparison between Dinner Spinner and Dinner Spinner PRO and download the app that is right for you!

Can I say how disappointed I am that this isn't free or at the very least discounted for Supporting Members? And for an iPhone application, 2.99 is a high price.

I think the App is totally worth the $2.99! I use it every day. Love the Kitchen friendly format, the only thing I wish is that it would show the ingredient amounts in that format as well.

I'd like it if the pro app can copy/paste frames like the normal app can. I use the notes feature on the iphone to copy the ingredients in along with my shopping list. The shopping list is much more convenient when its with the rest of my day-to-day notes.

The only thing that I wish this app had was the ability to mimic the full sorting features of the website. For example, the ability to sort ALL recipes not just the first 50 results by rating. This gives the website 100's of 5 star results instead of the 1 or 2 that you get per page of 50 recipes on the app. Try it: do a blank search on the app, then sort by rating. I got steamed lobsters as my #1 with only 41 ratings. Then go to the main site, and sort all recipes by rating. The first result is banana crumb muffins with over 5000 reviews. Which is better? I think that answer is obvious! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE include a full recipe sort on the next version of the dinner spinner pro app. I paid for this after all.

No answers here? Is there an android app? Or... will there be in the near future? (I would second the suggestion that mobile app be one of the benefits of "Supporting Member")

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DEVELOP THIS FOR THE ANDROID OS. I also agree that their should be a link to manually download and install the dinner spinner app from within the supporting members secure area...

No answer yet for Android? I know a lot more people with and Android based phone than an Iphone because they don't want to switch to AT&T. Please let us know if this is in dev for Droid. Thanks!

PLEASE MAKE AN ANDROID VERSION, Consumer Trends have clearly shown that Android's User-base and Popularity is very quickly eclipsing that of the iPhone and iOS Devices. It is common sense as Android is an Open platform released on a variety of incredible devices and although some may have doubted its success early on, it has since become clear that Android may very soon surpass even Symbian and the worlds most used Mobile Operating System. DINNER SPINNER DEV TEAM: PLEASE DO SOME RESEARCH, AN ANDROID VERSION OF DINNER SPINNER WOULD BE A VERY BENEFICIAL MOVE. The Android Market may have not been the most ideal marketplace for mobile applications in its early days, however recent updates and modifications have vastly improved its position as a feasible mobile software deployment platform, which in turn will greatly increase the revenue generated by the hard work put into your wonderful Dinner Spinner Pro application. Maybe you can take advantage of the freedom given by android and put even more into an already awesome app. I am not bashing iOS in anyway, however as a user and software designer for both, I have grown very fond of Android. At this time I prefer Android from both a developer's standpoint AND an end-user. The Android Movement will continue to gain momentum, please do not miss the opportunity to hop on the train before it is over crowded.

the larger a company gets and the bigger their client base becomes, the less they listen to the needs of desires of that client base. its one of those unfortunate aspects of success. they forget why they are successful. that being said, it seems doubtful that the company will develop and android app anytime soon, if at all. it doesn't matter how many people want it. the same goes for a lot of app makers. they only want an app for the pop culture favorite, the iphone. but they don't want the app for their customers. they want it JUST SO THEY CAN SAY THAT THEY HAVE AN APP! see? it makes them seem fresh and new and with the times. now count the times the tv or radio advertises some company with their new iphone app and realize why they have that app. it isn't for their customers.

It appears that AllRecipes does not have any concern for what their customers want or like. I am a supporting member and I cannot get a single reply from anyone at AllRecipes in regards to this. I love this site, but clearly the site's value and appeal is SOLELY rooted in the great community as the company does not show any interest in appeasing their users. This is not in regards to just the request for an android version of this app, but many things. I am working on formally petitioning the company for their support of this idea, or in the least, a statement or comment about the possibility of an Android App. Please email me at edensdesign @ gmail . com

Another vote for an Android app. Just as an example of how android is growing, I ride a van pool with six other riders and three of us have android, nobody has an iPhone. And two of the three are big time foodies to boot!

27 percent of U.S. smartphone sales are attributed to Google’s Android, with only 23 percent going to Apple’s iPhone. Unfortunately the iPhone gets all the press though. Come on AllRecipes lets get an Android app on the market.

I just emailed customer service regarding Android App Status: "In case no one from AllRecipes has been monitoring their own site blog, please review the thread posted at: http://allrecipes.com/cook/allrecipes/blogentry.aspx?postid=159797
I too am an Android user and was stunned not just at the lack of an app for Android devices but the volume of requests made for it and for how far back the requests go. You would make a lot of site fans very happy if you would at least provide public update on liklihood and status of an Android app. Thanks so much!" Will see what response I get.

Dinner Spinner Pro for Android PLEASE!!! I got used to using it on my iPhone then when switching to Android HTC Thunderbolt, I have to go back to only the regular Dinner Spinner?? It's worth paying the couple bucks to buy the app and I'm sure others AllRecipes.com Supporting Members would LOVE to have the app. Perhaps even the app could be included with a PAID Supporting Membership? Regardless, we could really use it.

I have an iPhone 4. Tried out the app, liked how it worked so I bought the pro version. At which time it stopped working. The only way to get a recipe out of it is to "spin categories". Even when I try to select ingredients to find recipes I've looked at before, I get only "spin categories". What happened?! I was so excited and now disappointed. This happen to anyone else?

About Me
Allrecipes.com is the world’s largest food site created entirely from contributions from talented home cooks. Allrecipes was first introduced in 1997 by five college students who loved cookies and had the early vision the web would be a fantastic place for people to find and share everyday food ideas. Twelve years later, Allrecipes.com is home to an amazing community where millions of recipes, reviews, ratings, photos, and blog postings spanning all types of ingredients, dish types, occasions and cooking styles are viewed and shared daily. Allrecipes grows every day as the community continues to share new ideas and experiences. Along with the original site, Allrecipes now has communities for home cooks in Australia/NZ, China, France, Germany, and the UK/Ireland. (Check them out! You’ll find links at the very bottom of this page.) For cooks on the go, Allrecipes is available free on the iPhone via the Allrecipes.com Dinner Spinner app, and web enabled phones at m.allrecipes.com.
My favorite things to cook
Everything and anything! Allrecipes community is an amazing resource for discovering all types of dishes and treats
My favorite family cooking traditions
All of them! How could anyone choose? All year long our community is cooking and celebrating seasonal holidays and special family occasions. Even the dinners we all have to get on the table every night can be a cherished tradition—or will seem so once the kids are grown.
My cooking triumphs
The millions of recipe choices, the tips and advice, the support and encouragement to try new things or rediscover old favorites make using this site a constant joy.
My cooking tragedies
Who doesn’t have these? Too many to tell really, but from each disaster there’s something to learn and laugh about. Cooking is meant to be an adventure!
