Hi Allrecipeeps!

Each year, millions of Americans stress about planning a special Valentine's Day. We recently surveyed the Allrecipes community, and found that 79 percent of you believe special foods on Valentines Day are what make an evening romantic. Sixty percent of you believe music is also a factor! Surprisingly (or maybe not!) for many of you, gifts are the least important part of the day! To help make the celebration a romantic success, visit the new Valentine's Day page. (Check out Celeste's cupcakes - I will definitely be making those!)

To help put the finishing touches on your Valentine's meal, every day from now until February 9th, we're giving away the new "Soldier of Love" album from the romantic music goddess, Sade (her first new release in 10 years!). To enter, just submit your most romantic (keep it g-rated ;)) Valentine's Day story to the Allrecipes Valentines Day contest page on Facebook.

Then, tell us what your plans are for this Valentine's Day below! Are you staying in, making a special dish (or dishes)? Or going out to a place where you can eat something that will bring back memories of Valentine's Days past?

Can't wait to hear all of your stories - past AND present!

Hi Elizabeth. I did look up at the Valentine's tab and there is a link for romantic Shrimp recipes. Can I ask why my shrimp recipe is not to be found even though it has 59 5 star ratings? There are some that have 1 star ratings. Please check for me.. Linguine Pasta with Shrimp and Tomatoes. Thank you so much for all your hard work!

My DH will be giving me a singing Valentine! He loves to sing love songs, and I love listening to them!

Thanks for the info, Elizabeth! And for all the work you and the rest of the staff do to make us happy. I'm sure it's not all fun and excitement, even though you get to work with us. LOL.

About Me is the world’s largest food site created entirely from contributions from talented home cooks. Allrecipes was first introduced in 1997 by five college students who loved cookies and had the early vision the web would be a fantastic place for people to find and share everyday food ideas. Twelve years later, is home to an amazing community where millions of recipes, reviews, ratings, photos, and blog postings spanning all types of ingredients, dish types, occasions and cooking styles are viewed and shared daily. Allrecipes grows every day as the community continues to share new ideas and experiences. Along with the original site, Allrecipes now has communities for home cooks in Australia/NZ, China, France, Germany, and the UK/Ireland. (Check them out! You’ll find links at the very bottom of this page.) For cooks on the go, Allrecipes is available free on the iPhone via the Dinner Spinner app, and web enabled phones at
My favorite things to cook
Everything and anything! Allrecipes community is an amazing resource for discovering all types of dishes and treats
My favorite family cooking traditions
All of them! How could anyone choose? All year long our community is cooking and celebrating seasonal holidays and special family occasions. Even the dinners we all have to get on the table every night can be a cherished tradition—or will seem so once the kids are grown.
My cooking triumphs
The millions of recipe choices, the tips and advice, the support and encouragement to try new things or rediscover old favorites make using this site a constant joy.
My cooking tragedies
Who doesn’t have these? Too many to tell really, but from each disaster there’s something to learn and laugh about. Cooking is meant to be an adventure!
