Calling all farmers’ market fans! This Saturday, come to the Eastern Market in Washington, D.C., and meet the Allrecipes gang! We’ll have our tent pitched all day, from 7AM to 6PM, at the Eastern Market in the Capitol Hill neighborhood. It's located on the southeast corner of 7th and Pennsylvania Avenue, just one block north of the Eastern Market MetroRail Station. Stop by! Look for the dark green Allrecipes tent, crates brimming with recipe packs and friendly people and visit us.
It’s Judith D. writing again. It’s great fun to write a recap of the past weekend's market to share with everyone. This week it's Brooklyn, next is Washington, D.C., and in two weeks, we’ll be back home in the glorious, green Pacific Northwest (How many of you knew Allrecipes is based in Seattle?), setting up our booth in Kirkland:
Wednesday August 19th - Kirkland Wednesday Market (Seattle)2PM to 7PM
Did anyone visit the Graham Avenue Farmers’ Market in Brooklyn, New York, last Saturday? We were minus our tent (FedEx lost it for a time, but it’s now returned). Despite this, the traveling crew managed quite nicely in the hot summer sunshine. They adapted as best they could, setting up shop without the tent, talking to more than 500 persons, handing out recipe cards and cold Snapple beverages, along with aprons and t-shirts to anyone completing a survey. We set up the “Guess the Number” game too, this time with a crate of apples, which was a big hit with all ages. Check out the photos below to catch the booth action!
If you’d like to visit the Allrecipes booth in Kirkland, Washington, please send me an email (judithd@allrecipes.com). We’d love to have you visit us!

I am a new supporting member. Any chance Allrecipes will be coming to the Houston area? (Hopefully you haven't already been!)

Hi, CindyS! Welcome to the Allrecipes community! We're delighted to have a new Supporting Member. This is Judith D. writing you, and you haven't missed us in Houston. Your fair city wasn't on our itinerary this summer. Allrecipes' farmers' market tour is a new adventure so where it goes from here remains to be seen. Seems we'll have to go back to Washington, D.C., too!

About Me
Allrecipes.com is the world’s largest food site created entirely from contributions from talented home cooks. Allrecipes was first introduced in 1997 by five college students who loved cookies and had the early vision the web would be a fantastic place for people to find and share everyday food ideas. Twelve years later, Allrecipes.com is home to an amazing community where millions of recipes, reviews, ratings, photos, and blog postings spanning all types of ingredients, dish types, occasions and cooking styles are viewed and shared daily. Allrecipes grows every day as the community continues to share new ideas and experiences. Along with the original site, Allrecipes now has communities for home cooks in Australia/NZ, China, France, Germany, and the UK/Ireland. (Check them out! You’ll find links at the very bottom of this page.) For cooks on the go, Allrecipes is available free on the iPhone via the Allrecipes.com Dinner Spinner app, and web enabled phones at m.allrecipes.com.
My favorite things to cook
Everything and anything! Allrecipes community is an amazing resource for discovering all types of dishes and treats
My favorite family cooking traditions
All of them! How could anyone choose? All year long our community is cooking and celebrating seasonal holidays and special family occasions. Even the dinners we all have to get on the table every night can be a cherished tradition—or will seem so once the kids are grown.
My cooking triumphs
The millions of recipe choices, the tips and advice, the support and encouragement to try new things or rediscover old favorites make using this site a constant joy.
My cooking tragedies
Who doesn’t have these? Too many to tell really, but from each disaster there’s something to learn and laugh about. Cooking is meant to be an adventure!
