Allrecipes is back on the West Coast this weekend! On Sunday, August 2, the Allrecipes Fresh Picked Meals Farmers’ Market Tour will visit Mar Vista Farmers’ Market at the intersection of Pacific Avenue and Venice Way in Los Angeles. Look for us there between 8AM and 2PM. Come visit our tent, pick up some terrific recipes to use with your farmers’ market veggies and fruits, and talk to our staff. We’ll have fun, kid-friendly activities going on too, so bring your family and come say hello.
To keep track of where Allrecipes wiil be next, here’s the upcoming schedule:
Sunday August 2nd - Mar Vista Farmer's Market (Los Angeles) – 8AM to 2PM
Saturday August 8th  - Graham Ave Farmer's Market (Brooklyn) – 8AM to 5PM
Saturday August 15th  - Eastern Market (Washington D.C.) – 7AM to 6PM
Wednesday August 19th  - Kirkland Wednesday Market (Seattle) – 2PM to 7PM

We truly wish we could be everywhere! We’ve heard from so many of you across the country—Chicago, Phoenix, San Diego, Pittsburgh, Boston, and a zillion other points in between. It’s terrific to read your comments and hear your enthusiasm for farmers’ markets and Allrecipes. This is Judith D. writing again this week, and everyone’s comments have been great! What a terrific community we are! Who knows how this tour program will develop? You’ll have to keep reading the Allrecipes blog to find out!
For anyone curious about Allrecipes’ visit to the Reading Terminal Farmers’ Market in Philadelphia, it was a HUGE success! Practically 2,000 persons visited the tent, and 3,000 seed packets with recipes were given away, along with Allrecipes shopping bags and aprons. More than 1,000 thirsty folks enjoyed Snapple beverages. In fact, the booth actually had to close early because they ran out of stuff! We hope Mar Vista Farmers’ Market will be just as terrific!
Check here Wednesday to see pictures of Allrecipes in Philly!
And if you’d like to visit the booth at one of Allrecipes’ upcoming markets, please send me an email (judithd@allrecipes.com). I’ll alert the crew staffing the event. We’d love to have you join us!

About Me
Allrecipes.com is the world’s largest food site created entirely from contributions from talented home cooks. Allrecipes was first introduced in 1997 by five college students who loved cookies and had the early vision the web would be a fantastic place for people to find and share everyday food ideas. Twelve years later, Allrecipes.com is home to an amazing community where millions of recipes, reviews, ratings, photos, and blog postings spanning all types of ingredients, dish types, occasions and cooking styles are viewed and shared daily. Allrecipes grows every day as the community continues to share new ideas and experiences. Along with the original site, Allrecipes now has communities for home cooks in Australia/NZ, China, France, Germany, and the UK/Ireland. (Check them out! You’ll find links at the very bottom of this page.) For cooks on the go, Allrecipes is available free on the iPhone via the Allrecipes.com Dinner Spinner app, and web enabled phones at m.allrecipes.com.
My favorite things to cook
Everything and anything! Allrecipes community is an amazing resource for discovering all types of dishes and treats
My favorite family cooking traditions
All of them! How could anyone choose? All year long our community is cooking and celebrating seasonal holidays and special family occasions. Even the dinners we all have to get on the table every night can be a cherished tradition—or will seem so once the kids are grown.
My cooking triumphs
The millions of recipe choices, the tips and advice, the support and encouragement to try new things or rediscover old favorites make using this site a constant joy.
My cooking tragedies
Who doesn’t have these? Too many to tell really, but from each disaster there’s something to learn and laugh about. Cooking is meant to be an adventure!
