You heard about it last week, and now Allrecipes Fresh Picked Meals Farmers’ Market Tour is on a roll— heading for the East Coast! On Saturday, July 25, Allrecipes will be at the Reading Terminal Market (51 North 12th Street, Philadelphia) all day! From 8AM to 6PM. Come visit us! Look for the dark green tent roof and covered table. We’ll be there—talking to everyone and sharing recipes for tasty summer dishes made with farmers’ market produce.  There will even be fun, family-friendly activities at the Reading Terminal Market because our area is extra wide.
This is Judith D. writing with an update about Farmers’ Market Tour. We had a terrific time last Saturday at the San Francisco Ferry Plaza Market, our first stop this summer on a six-city tour. We estimate almost 1,000 persons stopped by the Allrecipes booth to pick up packs of special recipes, taste ice-cold Snapple, and see demos of the site on laptop computers. A good time was had by all!
We were especially thrilled Celeste and Karen joined us as super enthusiastic Allrecipes members. Celeste even brought her special brownies and Karen stayed the whole time! How fabulous is that? See below for pictures of the San Francisco farmers’ market event. We had a wonderful day!
For all of you who posted comments last week, we sincerely wish the tour could visit more than six cities! There are so many loyal Allrecipes fans in the Midwest and South, and everywhere in between. Consider this summer’s tour a test run. We hope to keep it going, so hang in there, Chicago and Santa Fe and Atlanta!
Here’s the schedule for the Allrecipes farmers’ market tour:
Saturday July 25th  - Reading Terminal Market (Philadelphia) – 8AM to 6PM
Sunday August 2nd - Mar Vista Farmer's Market (Los Angeles) – 8AM to 2PM
Saturday August 8th  - Graham Ave Farmer's Market (Brooklyn) – 8AM to 5PM
Saturday August 15th  - Eastern Market (Washington D.C.) – 7AM to 6PM
Wednesday August 19th  - Kirkland Wednesday Market (Seattle) – 2PM to 7PM

We hope to see you at one of our upcoming markets. If you want to help out at the booth—no obligation on how long you stay, stay as long or as short a time as you like—send me an email ( and I’ll alert the crew staffing the tour. We’d love to have you join us! Just let me know!

I so wish I could get to Philly, but it's just not possible right now. I wish AR was coming to Pittsburgh. I'd be there in a heartbeat!

i can not make any of these - but i have a huge family in the seattle area - i will be pumping them up to your visit there - as well as still sharing this website all the best to you and this effort how about a food challenge - get a couple of cooks from the site to come and challenge them to create one-of-a-kind meals from what is at hand!

I am a well traveled person who lives in a semi- urban area of northwest Al.Part of my travels alway includes trips to the local markets- in the US, in Europe and in Mexico. I find with delight that I have been to San Franciso, Reading Terminal and Eastern Market. Fantastic cooking demonstrations in SF and Philadelphia. Thanks for the few moments of nostalgia!

I went to the Reading Terminal Market in Philly on 7/25 at 1 pm and there was no Allrecipes to be found! I was so disappointed b/c both your site and the Philly site said 8am-6pm. I asked around and no one seemed to know what it was. The only trace of evidence was a piece of paper taped to a table that said reserved for allrecipes. Anyone from Philly get to experience it? I'm assuming it shut down early.

About Me is the world’s largest food site created entirely from contributions from talented home cooks. Allrecipes was first introduced in 1997 by five college students who loved cookies and had the early vision the web would be a fantastic place for people to find and share everyday food ideas. Twelve years later, is home to an amazing community where millions of recipes, reviews, ratings, photos, and blog postings spanning all types of ingredients, dish types, occasions and cooking styles are viewed and shared daily. Allrecipes grows every day as the community continues to share new ideas and experiences. Along with the original site, Allrecipes now has communities for home cooks in Australia/NZ, China, France, Germany, and the UK/Ireland. (Check them out! You’ll find links at the very bottom of this page.) For cooks on the go, Allrecipes is available free on the iPhone via the Dinner Spinner app, and web enabled phones at
My favorite things to cook
Everything and anything! Allrecipes community is an amazing resource for discovering all types of dishes and treats
My favorite family cooking traditions
All of them! How could anyone choose? All year long our community is cooking and celebrating seasonal holidays and special family occasions. Even the dinners we all have to get on the table every night can be a cherished tradition—or will seem so once the kids are grown.
My cooking triumphs
The millions of recipe choices, the tips and advice, the support and encouragement to try new things or rediscover old favorites make using this site a constant joy.
My cooking tragedies
Who doesn’t have these? Too many to tell really, but from each disaster there’s something to learn and laugh about. Cooking is meant to be an adventure!
