Hi everyone!

It's me, Elizabeth, again.

Thanks so much for all of your patience over the holiday weekend! We had an unexpected site outage on Friday due to a fire in Seattle at the building where our servers are housed. Thanks to our technical team we were up and running in time early in the morning on the 4th of July to spend the rest of the day with family and friends and enjoy the fireworks on the Fourth!  (Rest assured, we are taking steps insure this does not happen again - if you would like more details on that, please email me at CustomerSupport@Allrecipes.com.)

Thanks to all of you who tried to visit Allrecipes, and those of you who emailed, called and checked our Facebook page (speaking of which, are you a fan? Become a fan of Allrecipes.com on Facebook by clicking here).

Now that everything is back to normal, how was everyone's Fourth of July?

Hi Elizabeth, My name is Patty, just wanted to say Thank You and I'm really sorry to here about the fire and hope no one was hurt.I am admitted addict of this wonderful site with such terrific people visiting and becoming friends along the way! My family and I had a nice 4th, we went on the roof of the house to watch the fireworks, first time we did that! Pretty Cool! I made BBQ ribs, potato salad, and patriotic poke cake. DELISH!! Thanks for listening and thank you for this site! Love, ♥ Patty ♥

Hi Elizabeth :) I'm so glad that you all were able to get the site back up and that everyone could still spend the holiday with family and friends. Thank you all for all of your hard work! We spent the day with family from out of town and I got to see my little baby niece! :)

Thanks to all the staff at AR! I'm sure every one of you had plans that were disrupted. I have family visiting from Norway so we did (at their request)burger, hot dogs, baked beans, potato salad, cole slaw and topped it off with Apple Pie al a mode. I've been singing the praises of this site and my cousin has been having a wonderful time looking at recipes and lurking on RE. I fully expect her to be hooked before they leave. Thanks again for the good communication.

You guys at AR are the best! Thank you to everyone who was working so hard to get the site back up. Elizabeth, I just tried to 'become a fan' on Facebook, and it says it texted my cell with a code, but no code has come thru. ?? Guess I'll try again tomorrow. Big ♥ to y'all... ~DECAF

About Me
Allrecipes.com is the world’s largest food site created entirely from contributions from talented home cooks. Allrecipes was first introduced in 1997 by five college students who loved cookies and had the early vision the web would be a fantastic place for people to find and share everyday food ideas. Twelve years later, Allrecipes.com is home to an amazing community where millions of recipes, reviews, ratings, photos, and blog postings spanning all types of ingredients, dish types, occasions and cooking styles are viewed and shared daily. Allrecipes grows every day as the community continues to share new ideas and experiences. Along with the original site, Allrecipes now has communities for home cooks in Australia/NZ, China, France, Germany, and the UK/Ireland. (Check them out! You’ll find links at the very bottom of this page.) For cooks on the go, Allrecipes is available free on the iPhone via the Allrecipes.com Dinner Spinner app, and web enabled phones at m.allrecipes.com.
My favorite things to cook
Everything and anything! Allrecipes community is an amazing resource for discovering all types of dishes and treats
My favorite family cooking traditions
All of them! How could anyone choose? All year long our community is cooking and celebrating seasonal holidays and special family occasions. Even the dinners we all have to get on the table every night can be a cherished tradition—or will seem so once the kids are grown.
My cooking triumphs
The millions of recipe choices, the tips and advice, the support and encouragement to try new things or rediscover old favorites make using this site a constant joy.
My cooking tragedies
Who doesn’t have these? Too many to tell really, but from each disaster there’s something to learn and laugh about. Cooking is meant to be an adventure!
