I’m Natalie R. in the membership marketing department at Allrecipes and I’m excited to tell you about some of our new features.
We spend a lot of time listening to what our community tells us are important additions to Allrecipes and do our best to bring those features to the site. Our newest features are part of what’s called Supporting Membership, which was designed with our community in mind. This is just the beginning!
Here are the Top 5 Reasons to be an Allrecipes Supporting Member:
#5 Blog About It Who doesn’t like to be heard? We created this feature, specifically because we know we have talented cooks, writers, Mom’s, Dad’s, Grandparents – you name it! People who generally like to share their knowledge, experiences and often--humor! Now you can write your own blog on Allrecipes for everyone to read.
#4 Become a Star! Our Supporting Members are at the heart of our community and keep the spirit of Allrecipes strong – which is why we identify Supporting Members throughout the site with a blue star and jazzed up profile.
#3 Special Print Options One of my favorites – this feature lets you choose a graphic style and background for the recipe cards you print (including fonts and colors). It also lets you choose the photos and reviews you want with the recipes. It’s kind of like recipe card scrapbooking. We’ve heard of some great ways to use this. Right here in our office, many employees print recipe cards with their creative touch to share with food gifts, display at parties or just for their personal files.
#2 Get a personal web address for your profile This comes in a close second as my personal favorite feature. Make it whatever you want and share it with friends, family or anyone you have in mind to follow your cooking adventures. You can even post it on your Facebook, Twitter or MySpace page! For example, if you love to bake, you could have a personal web address that reads: allrecipes.com/cook/Love2Bake.
And last but, not least…the #1 feature!
#1 Save Your Recipe Changes If you like to add your own spin on recipes or make changes to fit your lifestyle or diet – this is for you! Replace the butter with olive oil. Add garlic salt. Less cinnamon. Bake for 25 minutes, instead of 30 minutes if your oven is hot. You can customize any recipe and then save it to your recipe box with any name you want. Knowing how much we all change recipes to fit our individual or family’s taste – this is a real time saver. It’s your recipe, so make it all yours!
