Clone of a Cinnabon

Reviewed: Apr. 26, 2009
This is a wonderful bread recipe. I've made it 3 times and it was successful every time. The texture of the bread is soft and almost melts in your mouth. I made this for Easter, and had friends over to share it, even gave some away. My family and friends love it. Thank you for sharing.

Guacamole

This is really yummy. I recently had a glut of avocados and this is what I turned them into. Added more cumin and coriander because I like them. Good recipe as it is.

Honey Wheat Sandwich Rolls

Reviewed: Jun. 1, 2009
This is a flavourful bread. I did this over the weekend, modified it a little to increase the fibre content by reducing the bread flour to 21/2 cup and whole wheat flour to 1/2 cup and substituted 1/4 cup raw wheatgerm, and 1/2 cup oats (pulsed in food processor). Still turned out great.

Chantal's New York Cheesecake

Reviewed: Jun. 1, 2009
Let's just say that a recipe with 2230 people giving it a 5-star rating can't be wrong. I baked this for my son's birthday party over the weekend, and made a blueberry topping to go with it. I reduced the sugar slightly to 11/3 cup just because we had a sweet topping on this cake, but it is a wonderful cheesecake as it is. Followed the recipe faithfully, no cracking, and texture was really good. Got compliments from friends and family. Thank you for sharing this great recipe.

Simple Whole Wheat Bread

Reviewed: Jun. 14, 2009
This is so yummy. It's good as it is, although from where I am in Singapore, the recommended amount of water seems a little too much, so go slow on adding all the water to the dough - enough to make it a soft but not too sticky. Started including some oats and wheat germ to the recipe for increased fibre, the bread still turns out great. Thanks for sharing.

Amish Bread

Reviewed: Oct. 29, 2009
This is a really light fluffy white bread, true to recipe. My children love it. It's great as it is, or toasted and eaten with your favourite jam. Yum

Strawberry Torte

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2011
I have to give this 5 stars because I made this for my husband's birthday party, and everyone said wow when they saw it, simply because it's a beautiful cake, but it became double wow when they ate it. I cut the sugar to half a cup but added a little homemade strawberry jam mid layer to enhance the strawberriness. I also made the topping with fresh strawberries and it was absolutely delicious.

Spanish-Style Quinoa

Reviewed: Feb. 13, 2011
I tried this recipe yesterday evening. It was the first time I cooked quinoa. I loved it, its flavourful and delicious with the tomato sauce. I threw in some leftover grilled vegetables (zucchini, eggplant, tomatoes, onions and peppers) and it was made a wholesome, healthy meal. Thanks for sharing

French Onion Dip From Scratch

Reviewed: Feb. 20, 2013
This is a delicious recipe. To reduce the fat I used 1 cup low fat sour cream and substituted the mayo with half a cup of greek style yogurt. Yum!

Wonderful English Muffins

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2009
Not quite the English muffins I expected - I followed the recipe faithfully but ended up with muffins that were more bread-like than English muffin like. The muffins were however very tasty, but my husband commented that their texture was more like a bagel than English muffin. Also found that I deflated them a little after the 2nd rising when I moved them to the griddle - next time I'll just leave them to rise on the griddle before turning on to heat.

Baked Buffalo Wings

Reviewed: May 10, 2012
This is a good recipe. I tried it out tonight and everyone loved it. I didn't have the cayenne and garlic powder so I used a little sage and paprika instead. I did half a batch with hot sauce and the other half plain for the kids. I floured the wings in the bag and baked it in a 400 deg oven, I didnt brush the meat with oil as the meat had enough fat to sweat out whilst baking and this gave the flour coating a crispier finish. Brushed on the hot sauce for half the batch once the wings were done and sent them back in the oven for 5-10 mins to finish. My mother in law loved it. Btw I had some chicken leg meat cut into large chunks and cooked with the wings in the same way and my daughter said they tasted like chicken nuggets, but better. All round a good recipe.
