Always a bridesmaid lol
My handsome son and I at a Steelers/Redskins game :-)
About this Cook
As you can tell, I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Steelers. With that being said, I live a very simple life and little things bring me huge joy. I love cooking (not so much baking) and I find that being in the kitchen is a huge stress reliever. As a single mother of one son, I'm almost always making entirely too much food, but I'm working on that ;-)
My favorite things to cook
I love cooking different foods from different countries such as Thailand,Indonesia,India, Trinidad, Greece, Italy - pretty much anywere.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Well my mother is Italian so we always had HUGE meals on Sunday afternoons. I try to do that with my son now (as long as it doesn't coincide with a Steelers game) :-)
My cooking triumphs
When I made lasagna and brought it in to work - everyone gobbled it up and asked for the recipe! One coworker even offered to pay me to make her a tray!
My cooking tragedies
The slow cooker taco soup recipe that everyone else on this site seems to love. I hated it as did my family. So SAD! I also usually suck at baking bread. It just about always comes out wrong. Shout out to Kathleen's Pretzel Bread! The only one that I make that comes out well :-)

Mama Palomba's Spaghetti Sauce
I made this sauce last night for dinner and it was very well received. I must admit, I usually just use jarred spaghetti sauce but I decided to give this a try and I'm so glad I did, it was super flavorful and more importantly, so easy and quick to make. Thanks for sharing Linda!

Chocolate Chip Muffins
I didn't love these. The consistency was not that of a muffin to me and they were somewhat bland. My son said that they tasted like chocolate chip pancakes and I must agree.

Best Cream Of Broccoli Soup
This soup was good! I didn't blend the blend the soup, as I like my soup with bites of broccoli throughout. I did also find that once mixed with the cream mixture it needed salt. But that may be because I used low sodium broth. Great recipe.
