Spicy Rye Rounds

Reviewed: Sep. 19, 2010
AWESOME! I had this recipe years ago (although it had a disgusting name and refuse to post it here) and had lost it. As soon as I read this, I knew it was the one! Make sure to use Velveeta- generic brands don't meld as well.

Easy Biscuits

Reviewed: Sep. 19, 2010
My husband made these for me (he is a novice cook) and didn't realize we had all purpose flour vs self rising flour.... so they were pretty dense. We will add some baking powder and baking soda to our next batch (to equal the self-rising flour). Also used butter instead of shortnening. *ADD SALT- they are very bland.

Amish Breakfast Casserole

Reviewed: Sep. 19, 2010
I added a few extra eggs... next time I will add a few more eggs, and decrease the hashbrowns a little.... it was GREAT the first time and a big hit in our hungry home! **do NOT add extra salt- the cheeses and meat make it quite salty as is

These were AWESOME! My hubby devoured them and then said "these are vegan?!?"!!! I used 3 tsp of baking powder to ensure fluffiness :)

Cinnamon-Sugar Popcorn

Reviewed: Jun. 19, 2010
DELISH!!! I microwaved the sauce in my pouring measure bowl, in one minute increments. I used margerine. I doubled the sauce amounts and omitted the salt. I used popcorn leftover from last night. I ate several handfuls once slighty cooled and had to stop myself and wait for the final cooled product! Hooray! A great use for slightly stale popcorn! Mmmmmm! (I'm sure it's super-great with fresh popcorn too!)

Rice Pudding in a Slow Cooker

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2010
Bummer! Everyone was right, a few vital things missing... like LIQUID! I added about a half gallon of milk, and another half gal of water- milk was added throughout the cooking time (over 20 hours!!) and the water was added in the last 6 hours. Seriously... 20 hours?! (Crockpot was on high, stirred regularly) If I attempt this again, I will cook the rice separate, or add 6 or so cups of water in the initial set of ingredients. It smelled great, but without the needed liquid, the condensed milk and sugar scorched- the entire batch turned black-brown and tasted toasted. Too bad the recipe hasn't been adjusted for all those who have tried it. It has the basics, just needs explanation about the type of rice, and an addition of liquids and time!!

Crazy Crust Pizza Dough

Reviewed: Jul. 11, 2009
Use 1 egg, add 1 c flour, add 1 Tablespoon baking powder, grease pans well! If topped raw, bake on 425 for 15 min or more. I added salt to the dough because I made my own pizza sauce without salt. This made 1 "medium" sized pizza- OR- 3 individual sized pizzas! Tested and approved by both adults and teenage boys and girls! Great simple, no-yeast recipe!!

Easy Batter Fruit Cobbler

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2009
Perfect, not gooey cobbler! I turned oven off at 45 minutes and let sit in the oven for 30 min, then cooled in the dish. The ensured the bottom was not doughy. I cheated and used a pie filling- next time fresh fruits will be great!

Scottish Shortbread II

Bake for 20 min, check for done-ness. Let cool COMPLETELY before cutting- minimizes crumbles. GREAT shortbread!

Sour Milk Spice Cake

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2009
Agree with other reviews- needs more moisture- and I almost trippled the spices! I think applesauce vs oil would be the defining moistness I'm looking for.

White Bread For The Bread Machine

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2009
First loaf was good, second loaf was a mini loaf though I followed the same recipe (?) Other than that, good, simple, dairy free recipe. Kept in zipper bag, in fridge for 2 weeks!
