About this Cook
I am a SAHM with 5 children, ages 4 months to 18 years. I enjoy finding low cost healthy meal solutions! One of my children (10 y/o daughter) loves to help me cook!
My favorite things to cook
Low Cost YUMMY Foods. We eat a lot of chicken. I enjoy firing up the gas grill, weather permitting.
My favorite family cooking traditions
French Onion Soup during the winter months. Making cheese perogies with my father on Christmas Eve.. especially now that my kids like to help!
My cooking triumphs
2 of my kids both answered "Cooking" as something their mom (me!) is good at (when interviewed separately!)
My cooking tragedies
I am not a very good baker.. too much of an exact science. I like to be creative and I'm not very good at watching things so I overbake almost everything!!!

Cha Cha's White Chicken Chili
This was my first attempt at making a white chicken chili. I really enjoyed it!!!! I did it in the slow cooker and it was delicious! Even better the next day as leftovers!! We had it with cheddar cheese and sour cream on top. I served it with "Golden Sweet Cornbread" and wow, what a hit the meal was!!!

Sticky Monkey Brains
This was SO EASY and SO YUMMY! I am not a fan of that canned bisuit stuff, so I tried this recipe using pizza dough. I bought frozen and left it out on the counter overnight. I followed all the directions from there. It did overflow the pan a bit, so be careful!!

Golden Sweet Cornbread
A huge hit! I made this recipe for a large chili dinner party last weekend. I actually tripled the ingredients & baked it in a large shallow (greased) aluminum pan I had purchased at a party-goods store. I omitted half the sugar and used corn meal we bought on vacation from a true grist mill. It was SO delicious! I am not very good at baking and it came out perfect!!!! Everyone raved about it.
