About this Cook
I will never be one of those people who proclaim themselves to be an expert cook and brag nonstop. To me, there is always room for improvement. I am always critical of cooking. At the same time, I hate the term "home cook" which implies that if you aren't the head chef at a 5 star restaurant, your food isn't edible and you should crawl into a hole. I say, get off your high horse.
My favorite things to cook
I like to try new and increasingly complex recipes.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Mom used to use convenience foods. I am not above breaking out the canned soup and Velveeta on occasion.
My cooking triumphs
No bragging, remember?
My cooking tragedies
One time I was broiling salmon with a potato chip crust and it kind of caught on fire.

Cilantro Garlic Chicken
I thought it was great. The flavors melded and there was just the right amount of heat. I can see, however, that if less than good quality and fresh ingredients are used, it would be a bit bland.

Zesty Slow Cooker Chicken Barbecue
I thought it was great. There's nice flexibility because you can alter the barbecue sauce and type of Italian dressing every time you make it. I used half honey and half hickory barbecue sauce. I'm not sure we needed a video to open bottles and poor them into a crock pot though!

My Meatball Lasagna
Tons of flavor and depth! Rich and indulgent. It would be very easy to alter this recipe for taste preference, fat reduction, etc. It's bad enough when people significantly change a recipe and then rate it, but who would rate a recipe he/she hasn't even tried? Doesn't it say, "have you tried this recipe?" Yeesh!
