Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2009
These are really easy pancakes! and they taste good too. I've made them as is and also using half white flour and half whole wheat, both are great.

Brooke's Best Bombshell Brownies

Reviewed: Nov. 20, 2009
I love these brownies! I've made them exactly as written and with modifications (1/2 cup whole wheat, 2 cups sugar with 1 bring brown sugar, 1/8 baking powder, 1/8 baking soda) and they both turned out great. The original recipe is sweet but wonderfully fudge-y. Try it as written first and then customize it.

Easy Whole Wheat Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 6, 2009
We really liked these pb cookies! I added the suggested 1/2 c oats and 1/4 t salt and watched them bake. I still burnt the first batch but that's my signature move.

Rosemary Corn Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2009
really loved this soup, added a small zucchini i found in my fridge to get rid of it so I'm guessing you can probably add a few other veggies for added nutrition if you want without changing the flavor

Low-Fat Refried Beans

Reviewed: Oct. 31, 2009
I love beans like this, they are simple. It's not about a bunch of added flavors/spices but the taste of pinto beans so I think you have to love the flavor of those beans to enjoy this. The second time I made these, I add some fresh green peppers, red onions, cilantro, and tomatoes as a garnish before serving.

Mom's Zucchini Bread

This was the first time I've ever made zucchini bread and my whole family loved it! I made it as is but now I want to try it again with the suggested modifications.

Fajita Marinade I

Reviewed: Oct. 14, 2009
It was a good marinade, very lemony. I really appreciate the ease of making it. The only thing I left out was the liquid smoke cause I didn't have any.

Creamy Potato With Rosemary Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2009
great soup! I made it twice, the first time i wasn't so impressed but my husband loved it. So I made it again and took the time to caramelize the potato and onion (the first time i was in a rush and didn't wait for the color to turn). I think that really help bring out the flavor. I added the rosemary during the saute and additional 1 tsp when i added the stock. I used whole milk instead of half and half. I loved it the second time! will defiantly make again.

Garlic Chicken Fragrant Rice On a Budget

Reviewed: Sep. 30, 2009
I was looking for a recipe specifically for jasmine rice since I had bag of it for some reason. This recipe had truly great flavor. I cooked it over a gas stove since I don't have a rice cooker and was skeptical about it at first. Sauteed the garlic and onions first, then rice, added the other ingredients but replaced fresh ginger with 1 t powdered ginger, I also didn't have a chicken thigh but the bouillon cube works well if you don't mind the increased sodium. I only got to eat a small serving of it before my husband and son devoured it!

Peanut Butter Brownies I

Reviewed: Sep. 30, 2009
great recipe! I got a bit confused with some of the recommended changes and ended up adding 1/3 c unsweetened coco powder without reducing the flour. The dough was really thick but I baked it anyway and was surprised that it turned out great.
