Broccoli Chicken Divan

Made this last night as directed. I thought it was okay but my family sure did not think it was a keeper. :-( Maybe I'll try again taking other reviewers suggestions of adding sour cream, etc. Thank you anyway!

Jo-Ann's Power Bars

My kids love these and really feel like they are getting a treat. Some things I changed, though, based on what was in my pantry & personal preferences: 1. Did not have Grape Nuts or sunflower seeds, so excluded those; 2. Used 3/8 C applesauce-no oil; 3. Substituted 1/4 C Molasses for the brown sugar; 4. Used 1/3 C Craisins; 5. Added a pinch of salt and 1/4 C Wheat Germ. Next time I might even add a little vanilla... Lots of possibilites! Great recipe to get creative with. Thanks for sharing!

Spiced Sweet Roasted Red Pepper Hummus

Yum! I made a double batch, following the recipe except for incorporating these suggestions from other reviewers: I used one whole red pepper that I roasted and instead of adding back some of the liquid from the canned beans I added olive oil (about 2T. for the double batch). The olive oil really gives it a smoothness that you don't get otherwise. Thanks for sharing!

Honey Of An Oatmeal Bread

GREAT recipe! Didn't use a bread machine, doubled the recipe for two loaves, and it turned out beautifully at 350 for 35 min. The only thing I will try next time is cutting the honey by half. Great texture. Was a hit!

Original Nestle® Toll House® Chocolate Chip Cookies

This is our family's favorite chocolate chip cookie! We enjoy a softer cookie though, so I add an extra 1/2 C flour. Also, not big nut fans so I always skip those. Bake for 9-10 minutes and take out of the oven before they look done. Allow to sit on the cookie sheet for about 5 minutes before moving cookies from baking sheet to a rack to cool. Also I love using my Silpat silicone baking mats...they make a great cookie and make clean up a breeze. Enjoy!

Perfect Pumpkin Pie

Best pumpkin pie we ever ate! Made it with a scant 2 C of fresh pureed pumpkins otherwise followed the recipe exactly. Our son in the past didn't like pumpkin pie, but not only devoured his piece but asked for seconds!

Cooked Pumpkin

EASY! Had always been told to cook pumpkin in boiling water. I just cut my pumpkins in half (as another reviewer suggested) , scooped out seeds and membrane, and they came out beautifully. Thanks for sharing this easy idea!

To Die For Blueberry Muffins

GREAT muffins! Used 1/2 applesauce and 1/2 oil...other than that, followed the ingredients exactly. Mixed up a double batch. Made 24 regular-size muffins. Next time I'll only mix up 1/2 of the crumb topping as a lot of it ended up all over the top of the pans. My family loved them. Thanks for sharing!

Beef Barley Soup

This soup is excellent! I added 3C shredded zucchini, 1t Worcestershire sauce, skipped the peas, and topped each serving with a sprinkling of Parmesan cheese. Even my picky husband loved it!

Easy White Chili

My family LOVES this! I have "heat" sensitive tastebuds in my home, so I omit the cayenne and later add red pepper flakes into the servings of those of us who do like peppers. Also, we like to add a dolup of sour cream and top with shredded cheddar cheese and a few chives. Tastes great and the presentation is nice, too. Add a salad and cornbread muffins and you have one of my family's favorite dinners. I love it because I can put it all together in the crockpot at the beginning of the day. Easy and so good!
