I made this dish once and it was okay but I probably won't make it again. My husband liked it and I thought the flavor was good, but the texture was almost the consistency of a bread pudding. If you are a bread pudding fan, this recipe is amazing, but I happen to not like bread pudding very much.
The only thing that I can think that I might have done wrong is I that used regular loaf bread and dehydrated it in the oven (arnold's oat nut) rather than buying french or Italian bread from the bakery. If I used a crustier bread, maybe the texture would have been more french toast like, but I am not certain since the bread I used was pretty crusty after dehydrating it.
