About this Cook
I am in my mid-twenties, somewhat of a newlywed, and am loving every minute of being a wife! I am a music teacher in the public school systems and am grateful to be able to arrive home early enough to cook dinner before my husband gets home... something i enjoy very much!
My favorite things to cook
Seasonal things are my favorite... I love making pumpkin bread and pie in the fall. I especially love to make candied sweets and fudge around the holidays and give them away as Christmas gifts.
My favorite family cooking traditions
The times I have been able to sit with my grandmother and help her cook some of her amazing Portuguese sweets (to which the recipes are locked in her brain), allowing me to write out these traditions so that we can keep making them when she is no longer with us.
My cooking triumphs
Mastering my mother-in-laws famous pound cake which made my husband very happy.
My cooking tragedies
When I was first married and had not yet learned the limits of the microwave, I set many things to sparking. Most notably, I set a foiled covered tuperware on fire!

Caramel Pretzel Nut Popcorn
Yum!! I make this around the holidays... line a pretty tin with wax paper and tie up this yummy mixture with a bow. Perfect gift! I agree with the spraying the bag suggestions. I always use a large Stop and Shop bag sprayed lightly with pam. This recipe is a big hit at the parties too! Great munch food!

Broiled Tilapia Parmesan
This recipe is simply incredible!!! My husband and brother inlaw told me that it was the best fish they have EVER had. I feel the same way. I usually throw on some scallions or fresh green onions for some extra fresh flavor. Perfection!

Garlic-Lemon Double Stuffed Chicken
Incredible! So flavorful... the cheese mixture was perfect. BIG hit at my house. I ran out of butter and used 1/2 cup instead of 3/4 cup.... this was still more than enough butter. Will make many more times!!!
