Steff's Shepherd Pie

Reviewed: Feb. 25, 2011
This was an easy and wholesome meal that I made for a friend who just recently had a baby, so she won't have to cook for her family. I made some minor changes: Peas instead of green beans and I sauteed the onions in a little butter before browning the meat in the same pan. I also added some various seasonings to the meat as it browned like thyme, sage, garlic powder, salt and pepper. It all came out wonderful! Thanks for sharing this great recipe!

Baked Potato Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2011
This dish sounded wonderful so I had to try turned out OK, but not great. 1 teaspoon of basil is way too over powering for this recipe....1/2 teaspoon or even 1/4 teaspoon would have been fine. Don't over do it on the hot pepper sauce either....just a couple shakes is plenty.

Chicken and Dumplings III

Reviewed: Sep. 1, 2009
This was a wonderful recipe...full of flavor and very filling. I had a bunch of chicken tenderloins and needed to do something with them and this was perfect. I boiled the chicken in 1/2 chicken broth 1/2 water, with some spices and a chopped onion added to the boil. I added peas and carrots at the end and re-seasoned....the hubby liked it!!

Venison Fajitas

Reviewed: Jun. 3, 2009
This was a very good recipe...being the wife of a hunter, I'm always looking for new ways to cook that venison! These were very tasty and of course, I didn't have all the ingredients at my house so I substituted a few things. I made Spanish rice and beans and some fresh pico and put together a yummy Mexican meal! I will definitely make this again and hopefully I'll have ALL the ingredients for the next time around.

Sweet and Spicy Sweet Potatoes

Reviewed: Mar. 22, 2009
These were wonderful...I had some great sweet potatoes that I got from a farmer's market, but I didn't want to make the traditional "autumn/ Thanksgiving" type potatoes seeing as it's Spring right now. This was a perfect recipe for spring time sweet potatoes. I took out the poultry seasoning and added about 1 tsp. of cinnamon and they turned out so good.
