About this Cook
Well, my mother never let me in the kitchen as a child and my father just deep-fried everything, so I didn't get a lot of hands-on experience in the kitchen growing up. Since college, I have been cooking for myself and for my husband, and I'm always excited to try new recipes. I'm not the best cook, but mostly I just love being in the kitchen and making good food with my own two hands!
My favorite things to cook
Pizza, stir-fry dishes, breads, and cookies. Since moving to Korea, I've learned a little more about cooking Asian food as well.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Homemade pizza and movies!
My cooking triumphs
Everyone loves my banana nut bread and oatmeal chocolate chip cookies. I'm a pretty good baker, though I prefer the excitement of cooking things with lots of veggies.
My cooking tragedies
My two biggest cooking tragedies are both due to undercooked poultry. One time I was making Cashew! God Bless You! Chicken (R. Ray recipe) and didn't cook the chicken all the way through. Hubby and I were sick for two days! The other time was our first Thanksgiving together and the bird still wasn't cooked after eight hours...I have no idea what happened! I cooked another bird for Thanksgiving this year and it turned out great, but I'll never forget that first one. :)

Best Brownies
I just made a batch of these because I had an abundance of cocoa powder and wanted a quick chocolate fix. I'm disappointed! If you're looking for fast, easy, extremely sugary, cakey brownies, then this recipe will suit you just fine. However, I believe brownies should be much more dense and a little less sweet than these, so I'm pretty disappointed and won't use this recipe again. Honest truth, they're more like something Mom would have whipped up at the last minute for a forgotten elementary school birthday party or bake sale!

Zucchini Brownies
These were fantastic! I made them as specified, but using EVOO instead of regular veggie oil and adding a handful of dark chopped baking chocolate chunks. Took them to church potluck and everyone loved them! They were all shocked (and a little grossed out) when I told them about the zucchini, but it didn't stop them from eating more!

Chewy Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies
These were great! I used good, dark bar chocolate and doubled the amount for super chocolate chunks, which everyone loved! Thanks for the fantastic recipe!
