Fettuccine with Sweet Pepper-Cayenne Sauce

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2013
Very good! Hubby said it was a keeper. It was spicy which we liked, but if you don't you may want to use less cayenne.

Kay's Spaghetti and Lasagna Sauce

Reviewed: Mar. 19, 2011
This was very good! I only had red pepper so I used that and added some chopped carrots too. Per another reviewer, I did not add the sugar but added a bit of baking soda and I added 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes, which we thought was the perfect amount. I don't see a need for the sugar. Using canned tomatoes from last year's garden, I did add a small can of tomato paste (as they seem to be more "watery" than the canned ones in the store). I used this sauce for Stuffed Shells I on this site...wow, great combination!

Cheese Ravioli with Three Pepper Topping

Reviewed: Mar. 1, 2011
Delicious! Used about 1/2 C. less of the broth and sprinkled with shredded parmesan cheese prior to serving. This would be a perfect compliment to many main dishes. Thank you, I will definitely make this again!

The Best Rolled Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 13, 2009
Yum! I followed the modifications suggested by adding 1 extra cup of sugar (I used conf. sugar for that) and added 1/2 teas more of vanilla extract plus 1/2 teas of almond extract. Used conf. sugar to roll them out (vs. flour) onto parchment paper. They never got dry or crumbly and held together well for frosting. This will be one of my go-to recipes for sugar cookies from now on. Thanks!

These are absolutely the BEST I have made...I used all butter (no shortening). Simply delicious! Moist inside, nice and soft.

Spiced Sweet Roasted Red Pepper Hummus

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2009
Very good, better than store bought! My kids love this with fresh carrots; it is their favorite way to eat it...I can't complain as it keeps them eating the veggies.

Baked Chicken Nuggets

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2010
Excellent! Used panko bread crumbs; next time I may crush them a bit, then dipped the chicken in "buttermilk" and baked on the cooling rack over a cookie sheet. Easy and better than anything you'll find prepackaged. The fresh grated parmesan made it superb!

Perfect St. Patrick's Day Cake

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2012
Wow, this was great! We preferred ours the next day after it sat in the refrigerator overnight. I did double the frosting since I planned to make 2 cakes instead of one cake with 2 layers but then I had leftovers (not necessarily a bad thing). I would recommend 1 1/2 recipes; this would be enough to easily cover both cakes but not have a lot left over. The cake was very moist and absolutely delicious! I will be making this again!

Applesauce Oat Cake

Reviewed: Feb. 25, 2011
This a review for the cake...(I used Cream Cheese II frosting + 1 1/2 teaspoons apple pie spice to frost). This was a very good cake, easy and moist! I did add 3/4 cup of raisins (soaked in hot water for 10 minutes 1st and then drained), but this cake is great without; I will definitely make this again! I like that it is a "small" cake so we don't have so much sitting around waiting to be eaten up :)

Soft Onion Sandwich Rolls

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2011
These were wonderfully soft and delicious. I do not think they were overly onion flavored and they were great for sandwiches! The whole family, including my kids, loved them! Made as is except used sauteed onions, I put all of them inside the dough. I topped some with sesame seeds and some with poppy seeds. My husband couldn't believe I made them and they were so easy!

Beer Batter for Fish

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2009
This was great. I used buttermilk (as I needed to use it up) but may not do that next time as it got pretty fluffy. We did make a lot and had some to reheat, which surprisingly for reheated fish, it tasted quite good. Thanks for the recipe!

Simple Whole Wheat Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2010
I was so intimidated to make bread from scratch when my bread machine broke but this was quite easy. And most importantly, DELICIOUS! I'm going back to homemade bread from now on. Can't wait to play with this recipe some more by trying the cinn. raisin as a reviewer suggested and adding some flax etc. Made as the recipe suggested with the addition of vital gluten. Thanks so much for making me a bread maker again :)

Alfredo Sauce

Easy and fabulous! Served it over butternut squash ravioli. The whole family loved it! I will be using this recipe from now on. I didn't have romano on hand so I just used parmesan. Thanks for this keeper!

Hot Fudge Sauce II

Reviewed: Mar. 30, 2010
We really enjoy this sauce! I use cocoa powder and canola oil instead of the baking squares and a little less cream. I've also made it with the fat free half and half vs. the cream. It turned out great!
