I really liked this, easy and made with ingredients I usually have on hand. The vegetable broth adds a nice touch.

Ground Beef Shepherd's Pie

We really liked this...will make again. I doubled the potatoes per suggestions but hubby thought it had too much; I liked it w/ lots of potatoes, so go with your preference :)

Baked Chicken Nuggets

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2010
Excellent! Used panko bread crumbs; next time I may crush them a bit, then dipped the chicken in "buttermilk" and baked on the cooling rack over a cookie sheet. Easy and better than anything you'll find prepackaged. The fresh grated parmesan made it superb!

Spiced Sweet Roasted Red Pepper Hummus

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2009
Very good, better than store bought! My kids love this with fresh carrots; it is their favorite way to eat it...I can't complain as it keeps them eating the veggies.

These are absolutely the BEST I have made...I used all butter (no shortening). Simply delicious! Moist inside, nice and soft.

The Best Rolled Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 13, 2009
Yum! I followed the modifications suggested by adding 1 extra cup of sugar (I used conf. sugar for that) and added 1/2 teas more of vanilla extract plus 1/2 teas of almond extract. Used conf. sugar to roll them out (vs. flour) onto parchment paper. They never got dry or crumbly and held together well for frosting. This will be one of my go-to recipes for sugar cookies from now on. Thanks!

Beer Cheese Soup V

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2009
Followed the recipe as it is, unfortunately it wasn't our favorite. We have a local restaurant w/ a really good beer cheese soup that we were hoping to make at home. I'll keep looking...we live in WI where there are a lot of beer cheese soups that are super. Thanks for giving us a starting point though and as you can see many love it.

Beer Batter for Fish

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2009
This was great. I used buttermilk (as I needed to use it up) but may not do that next time as it got pretty fluffy. We did make a lot and had some to reheat, which surprisingly for reheated fish, it tasted quite good. Thanks for the recipe!

Fruity Sweet and Sour Sauce

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2009
This was easy and it makes a good amount. It was a little heavy on the cherry flavor (for us) so I may decrease this next time as well as decreasing the sugar a bit. It is sweet but as good as you'd get in a restaurant.

Bacon Ranch Pea Salad

My husband and I really liked this. (The kids didn't so much probably due to the onion). It was easy, makes a good amount and I will make this again.

These were really good, the kids enjoyed them too. I like the "healthy" ingredients. I will try making extras as others suggested to freeze and then toast as needed. Thanks for the recipe!

White Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2009
These are a very sweet cookie. I will make these again as an alternate to choc. chip cookies. I like having the oats in them, be aware the dough is pretty stiff by the end of adding all of the ingredients.

Janet's Rich Banana Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 20, 2009
With the sour cream (or plain yogurt in a pinch) this bakes up evenly (center is done w/o the edges being over done) and is delicious. This is our favorite banana bread recipe! I do mash the bananas instead of slicing; mainly because I am often using overly ripe bananas from out of the freezer but Ido think it distributes the bananas throughout too.
