Classic Butter Cookies I

Reviewed: Dec. 11, 2001
I didn't have cream of tartar, so I omitted that and the baking soda and added instead 1-1/2 tspns of baking powder. These turned out great in my cookie press. My kids and I made green Christmas trees and wreaths. Next time we plan to decorate these tasty, quick and easy cookies.

Oatmeal Banana Nut Bread

Reviewed: Jul. 2, 2001
Very good banana nut bread with the added twist of oatmeal. I think I baked it too long this time because it turned out a bit dry, but moistness actually improved as bread sat.

Almond Carrots

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2001
I was unsure at first when reading this recipe, but after making it and trying it, it was very yummy. The carrots tasted like candy. Yummy recipe and will make again. Just to note, my kids wouldn't eat them, but they barely tried them! (Ages 6, 3 & 3)

Restaurant-Quality Maple Oatmeal Scones

Reviewed: Jun. 13, 2001
I am not sure about the kids because they are in that picky stage, but I think these turned out great. I substituted about 1 cup of chopped walnuts in place of the dried cherries. These were terrific. I am thinking of topping them with a maple glaze drizzled over them.

Luscious Raspberry Scones

Reviewed: Jul. 2, 2001
This produced some nice scones; however, not as sweet as I would have liked. My mother-in-law did enjoy them very much. Thank you.

Spaetzle I

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2001
This was a good recipe, however, to put the noodle mixture through the colander was not the easiest thing to do. I ended up using my cookie press, and it worked okay. Maybe next time I will see about using a ricer (I don't have one currently.) Using the press, the noodles were a bit thicker and more dumpling like, but they were still good with the Hungarian Ghoulash.

Hungarian Goulash II

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2001
This was a good recipe, I did make some changes though. In place of the water, I used beef broth (canned variety) and in place of the flour and water mixture, I used a roux (an amount of butter melted over the stove with an equal amount of flour mixed in). Otherwise, the only other thing was I couldn't find Hungarian paprika at my grocery, so I used regular. It turned out very good over the spaetzle.

Lemon Pasta Sauce

Reviewed: Aug. 20, 2001
This recipe was terrific. I was looking for a pasta dish to serve with some lemon tarragon chicken breasts I had bought and this really came in as a winner. We added a touch of garlic, some parsley, green pepper, mushrooms and some parmesean cheese along with the chicken and it made quite a meal. The lemon sauce alone was pretty tasty. (We sampled in between additions!) Thanks for a good recipe!

Absolutely the Best Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2001
These cookies turned out very very good in my cookie press. We used wilton paste food coloring and the cookies were such vibrant colors! My kids liked these enough to make again. These were not bland, and tasted especially good warm.

Salisbury Steak

Reviewed: Jul. 2, 2001
Very good recipe for salisbury steak and my kids absolutely loved it! (Ages 6 & twins 3) It was relatively easy to make and cooked up fairly quickly once the ingredients were assembled. I plan to cook more and freeze as part of my once a month cooking. Thank you!

These were easy to make and very delicious. I even added a little bit of cinnamon to the dough. Thanks for the recipe.
