Big Al's K.C. Bar-B-Q Sauce

Reviewed: May 28, 2010
Tasty, but not the best we have had. Some compare it to Sweet Baby Ray's and I don't think it is quite there.

Oatmeal Toffee Cookies

Reviewed: May 18, 2010
5+ stars for taste, 3 stars because it took several batches to get them to stop spreading so much. Some were wafer thin when I took them out.

Bev's Orange Chicken

Reviewed: Apr. 15, 2010
I did cut back on the onion soup mix because my roommate and I are trying to be frugal with the sodium lately. It tasted lovely. We used the marinade with boneless chicken breast. It had a distinct orange flavor, it was plenty sweet, no sugar needed. The soy sauce and onion soup mix did not over power it. I was very pleased. The only problem was that the sauce did not thicken up because I had to keep the chicken covered to keep it moist. It also only had to cook for 40 minutes. I didn't have any thickeners on hand at her house so I was limited in what I could do. Despite that the flavor transferred well. We were both pleased. I will definitely use this again!

Double Tomato Bruschetta

Reviewed: Apr. 15, 2010
I will start off by saying I love bruschetta; I make it regularly at home, and order it regularly at restaurants. I did enjoy this recipe, however I still prefer the classic bruschetta to this one. This one is a little sweeter for my taste. I am glad I tried it, and my sister liked it a lot, but I most likely will not make it over a more traditional recipe. Personal preference.

Mountain Dew™ Cake

Reviewed: Apr. 4, 2010
I made the cake portion per the instructions, only I had Diet Mt. Dew on hand that I needed to get rid of. I figured it didn't matter so I used it. It tasted like a nice moist, rich lemon cake. Some people do not like coconut so I omitted the topping and just used cream cheese frosting. They all liked it.

Chicken Wing Dip

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2010
I have made this recipe numerous times. I do shred my chicken rather than cube it. Tastes wonderful and simple to make!

Anna's Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2010
These came out very good. I did add walnuts. I did not need to chill the dough to keep the cookies from flattening with this recipe which was nice. I will make these again.

Chantal's New York Cheesecake

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2010
Followed the directions, except I could not wait the whole 6 hours, so we settled for 4. We also used a water bath. This will be the recipe I use from now on. This is the perfect texture and taste. We topped with canned cherries for half, and a raspberry sauce we made for the other half. Superb! Thanks for the recipe!

Unbelievable Rolls

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2010
Very easy, and tasted great. I think the egg wash taste the best (I tried a milk, an egg, and a butter wash). Will be making these again! Thanks for the recipe!

Cheddar Biscuits

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2010
I tried a different recipe for these types of rolls and while they tasted like Red Lobsters the consistency was not quite right. Yours are perfect. The only thing I did different was to put a little parsley in the dough as well as on top. Thank you for posting this recipe!

Buttery Soft Pretzels

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2010
This is the third time I have tried to make pretzels, I haven't had any luck thus far. I decided to change recipes and came across this one. They came out perfect. I made them per directions, except that I brushed the freshly baked pretzels with butter and sprinkled with coarse salt. They were gone within minutes. The entire family loved them. I will be making these again. Thanks for the recipe!

Simple Whole Wheat Bread

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2010
My housemate made this bread, and I fell in love. I decided to make it myself, to see if it would come out just as well, and it was flawless. I do not usually like whole wheat bread. The honey and mixture of the two flours makes this recipe a winner. I made this exactly as directed.

Baked French Toast

Reviewed: Dec. 15, 2009
The ONLY think I did different was to flip the bread 15 minutes before I took it out. I did this because I really do not like soggy bread. My family really liked it, I thought it was pretty good. It was cooked well, and tasted good. Since I had flipped it the syrup created a soft crust on the bottom of the bread (yummy). If I make this again I think I will double the syrup and add half before baking and half when I flip it. Thanks for the recipe!

Quick and Easy Alfredo Sauce

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2009
This is, without a doubt, the BEST alfredo. I do not usually like alfredo, many places make it too heavy and it spoils my appetite. The only thing I did differently was to use margarine (it was what was in the fridge). This was nice and creamy, with an excellent flavor. Next time I may add a few herbs, but this stands on its own as is. Plus it's quick and easy to make! This will become a regular at my house.

Bagels II

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2009
Mine did not look like supermarket bagels, but boy did they taste good. I think my problem may have been too much flour. I did kneed until it was elastic but when I went to roll the balls parts of the dough wouldn't stick to itself very well. Oh well, they may not be the prettiest but they are the tastiest. I made sesame seed, fennel seed, onion, celery seed and plain salt. My father was skeptical about the whole "I'm going to make my own bagels" but he is now devouring them all, so I'd say it was a success!
