Slow Cooker Beef Stew IV

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2010
This is the best stew I have ever eaten! Everyone in the family loves when I make it. I only change a couple things. Instead of using a bag to mix the beef and flour mixture in, I find it easier to use a medium container with lid. It coats more evenly and is a bit less messy. I also prepare the Lipton onion soup with one cup water and one cup wine, and use about 1/2 cup wine at the end instead of 1/4 cup. Yes, it sounds like a bit much wine, but it adds wonderful flavor (I use Merlot).

Julia's Easy Slow Cooker Chicken

I thought the recipe was a little bland and would try spicing it up with some of the suggestions I read in the reviews.

World's Best Lasagna

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2010
I put in half the salt as suggested and still thought it was a little too salty. I used a full pound of ground beef and 1.3 pounds of sausage, which was the closest sizes I could find at the market. I also added a little extra tomato sauce because the cans I found were 8 oz. instead of 6.5. After simmering for 5 hours, I prepared it in a 14.5 x 11 inch pan. this fit 4 noodles length wise and one noodle sideways to complete the noodle layer. I was also able to fit all of my sauce by using about 2 cups per layer. with total of four layers of meat sauce and three layers of noodles. Only thing I would change next time is switch out the sweet Italian sausage for mild Italian sausage and only add half the salt to the sauce and no salt in the Ricotta.
