Crescent-Wrapped Brie

Simple and beautiful! I will make this again for the holidays, it's that elegant. The imagination can go wild with this recipe at the core, but please try it as written first. It is fabulous unadorned! For additions I'd go with garlic, olives, parsley, pesto inside on top of the brie, sesame, poppy or caraway seeds outside... um! Can't wait to make it again!

Chicken Picatta

This is a GREAT recipe! I just whipped it up (it's that easy) to raves from the family! On it's own it is delicious, and the addition of lime juice and some capers made it another kind of special! This recipe could be tweaked with other spices and sides for a plethora of goodness... I'm going to make it with turkey leftovers next week. Thanks! "Try it, you'll like it!"

Chicken Voila

Mama's Modified Crock Pot Apple Butter

This is the best apple butter ever! My apple-butter-lovin' family swooned for the end product and, yes, it makes the whole house smell like heaven! I doubled the recipe for 8 *pounds* of apples ( I was gifted about 15 lbs. of field apples, and 8 lbs. filled my crockpot!), cut the sugar to total of 1 1/2 cups, and added another teaspoon of cinnamon at the demand of my hubby. I froze about 5 jars and kept the rest in the fridge for immediate consumption - it's almost gone... :) Thanks for sharing this yummy recipe!

Cod Fish Cakes

I made these tonight to rave reviews! The possibilities of this yummy fish cake are endless! I would try garlic, fresh basil, lime juice, soy sauce, other kinds of fish or - abalone ... Thanks for the simple, steadfast recipe!

Dolmas (Stuffed Grape Leaves)

Thanks for this great recipe! I have grapes and really wanted a good dolma recipe. This is IT! I reduced the cinnamon the 2nd time around, but don't eliminate it, the cinnamon is such an important flavor in this recipe! Oh, I also eliminated currants because i just don't like them.

Garden Herb Pesto

This is a fabulous recipe for using the many herbs that are popping in the garden! I substituted chard for the spinach (darn! will plant spinach next year..) otherwise followed it to the letter. Served over tortellinis one night and had raves from the peanut gallery! After refrigerating and heating up 2 days later, served with linguine, another dinner table hit! I will keep this recipe for Pesto Chicken and any other pesto recipe that comes along. DEE-LISH!!

I tried this recipe because I didn't have eggs on hand. I tried a batch per the recipe, then a few more with milk. The bread crumbs didn't stick either way. I guess the eggs are just essential!

Ham and Beans

The cayenne! That gives this bean pot a real life! I used a ham hock I had in the freezer. I swear I see tomatoes in the photo, so I chopped two romas and added them last, just heating them through. This recipe is closer to my Mom's beans than I've ever been able to duplicate. Thanks! :)

Swiss Chard with Garbanzo Beans and Fresh Tomatoes

I had a lot of garden chard so I tried this recipe. It's so tasty! Adding the tomatoes last makes the whole dish taste fresh and "Springy". I used 2 packed cups chopped chard, leaves only (the stalks go into my veg stock). I also substituted 4 lg. cloves garlic for shallot, 1/2 med. onion for the green onions and 2 Roma tomatoes, as that's what I had on hand. This is now a favorite and in my recipe box!
