The Best Frikin' Party Dip Ever!
I made this and added 1.5c shredded cheddar. I expected a lot because of the title and reviews, but I thought the cream cheese was overpowering all other flavors. I did use mild Rotel as that's what my man likes, and certainly the traditional hotter one would have helped. Won't make it again though.

Sweet and Sour Pickled Beets
So EASY, so DELICIOUS!! I made the recipe before just as it was written and we loved it. I made it again recently, but w/ beets from our garden. I forgot about needing to save the beet broth from cooking them and couldn't as I didn't clean them fully before boiling. Having looked at other recipes that incl orange zest, I got the idea to use 1/2 c orange juice and a splash of water instead. They turned out wonderfully tangy sweet w/ the smell and gentle taste of the orange too. And they are so pretty. I'm giving little jars of them as Christmas gifts; no one will expect this of me so I can't wait!

Fresh Pear Pie
I loved this and have made half dozen cause the feedback has been so positive. Changes: Instead of a top crust I used a brown sugar/pecan topping from an apple pie recipe on this site. 2) I used only 1/4 c of sugar for 2 pies plus the zest and juice of one lemon -- our fresh pears were so sweet i didn't need much sugar. The pie was light and refreshing and just sweet and tart enough to be a hit with kids and adults of all ages.
