Angel Food Cake I

Reviewed: May 14, 2012
I do a good amount of cooking and baking, but this was my first attempt at making a home-made Angel food cake. There is definitely a huge difference in taste. I followed another reviewers suggestion and lined the cake pan with wax paper, I also used a butter knife to loosen the edges from the pan wall. It turned out absolutely fabulous! I will definitely use this recipe for my Angel Food cakes! Thanks for sharing :)

BBQ Pork for Sandwiches

Reviewed: Dec. 18, 2011
I slow cooked the pork for 4.5 hours on high and 2 hours on low, this was very tender but not overly moist. I shredded the meat and mixed it in sweet baby rays bbq sauce, then let it sit in the fridge overnight. It had a decent flavor but overall... I wasn't wild about the meat. I have high standards when it comes to food and this wasn't anything to write home to mom about. It wasn't horrible... it just wasn't my favorite. However, this was for a work pot luck and they seemed to like it :)

Paul's Pumpkin Bars

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2011
I made these for the first time last week for our church pie fellowship, they were a huge hit and there wasn't one left :) I followed the changes made by circekitty. except, I made the pumpkin puree myself with a real pumpkin and I only added 3 cups of powdered sugar instead of the 4 she recommended. Also, I was a little short on the puree, my pumpkin produced 21 ounces but hey, it still turned out great! I just finished making these bars again for the second time for our family thanksgiving tomorrow. I will know how the family likes them then ;) I will definitely make these again and again. Very easy to make... and super delish!!!

Blue Cheese Crusted Filet Mignon with Port Wine Sauce

Reviewed: Feb. 16, 2011
Wow! This was absolutely delicious! I did tweak this recipe just a little and it turned out scrumptious. Our grocery store was out of Filet mignon, so I used a t-bone steak. We don't drink, so I substituted the port wine with 100% grape juice. I also used a regular red onion instead of minced white... which had good flavor. When the sauce was done cooking - I strained the pieces out of it and set it aside. I cooked my steak on the stove top, and it turned out great. Also, I didn't have any panko bread, so I google searched a recipe and made my own! The blue cheese and panko mixture was a nice compliment to the sauce. I made whipped potatoes with sour cream, butter, some reg salt and garlic salt. I used the sauce to cover the steak and potatoes. I topped the meal off with a side of glazed baby carrots. My husband and I both agreed, this meal was much better than most steak houses! It was a perfect valentines dinner - for 2 :) I would highly recommend this meal to anyone, especially if you are looking to impress people!

Broccoli, Rice, Cheese, and Chicken Casserole

Reviewed: Sep. 30, 2010
I made this recipe tonight, It was very good, however, I did tweak it a little. I didn't add any butter and I didn't add the chicken... I didn't have any chicken thawed! My mom has been making a recipe similar to this for about 25 years. Hers is slightly different and healthier. My husband and I really enjoyed this dish... it was very tasty. Oh... I did add half a pack of onion soup mix in place of the onion...very good flavor! I would recommend this recipe to anyone... you won't be disappointed! Happy Cooking!!! :O)

Chicken Enchiladas V

Reviewed: Sep. 19, 2010
This is an excellent recipe, I did tweak it just a little and it turned out wonderful! The only thing to be aware of is, you have to use the small tortilla shells if you want this to make 8 servings, if you use the large shells it will make 4 servings. Also, I cooked 3 large boneless, skinless chicken breast and that made about 2 3/4 Cups this was the perfect amount. I doubled the chili powder, and green chili peppers... not the onion tho! My husband and I both liked this a lot. I plan to keep this on the dinner menu! A side of refried beans and spanish rice make great sides!!! Thanks for sharing a delicious recipe :O)

Chewy Brownies

Reviewed: Sep. 17, 2010
I altered this recipe, somewhat! I do not plan on making this recipe again; my husband and I didn't care for it! I do a lot of cooking/baking and I have to say... this is not one of the better recipes I have used!

Pasta Con Broccoli

Reviewed: Dec. 13, 2009
This pasta was ok. I made my sauce in a separate pan; which I always do... it turns out better, I also cook my mushrooms in butter and oil before adding them. I doubled the batch because I made a serving for 4. I also added oregano, Italian seasoning and white pepper instead of black. My personal opinion; this recipe unaltered is not worth making.

Creamy Pumpkin Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2009
Fabulous pumpkin pie! I made 4 of these pies for Thanksgiving... 2 of the pies with canned pumpkin and 2 with fresh pumpkins; the fresh pumpkin won hands down. This recipe if out of this world. I will be using fresh pumpkin for my pies from now on. I used 2 cups pumpkin instead of the 4 cups the recipe calls for this was the perfect amount. I added a pinch of extra spices and I would also recommend baking the pie crust by itself for about 5-7 minutes before adding the filling. I bake and cook a lot and I am very picky when it comes to giving high ratings. However, this recipe gets 5 stars from me and my family. Thanks for a fantastic pie. Happy Thanksgiving!

Caramel Apple Pie II

Reviewed: Oct. 3, 2009
This is a fantastic recipe. The caramel is a great addition to the pie. I read a lot of reviews that others were having trouble with the filling being to runny. I took the advice of others and I added an extra tbsp of flour. The pie turned out great,Thank God! Thanks for a great recipe :)

Veggie Egg Scramble

Reviewed: Sep. 12, 2009
This is a good dish. However,I switched it up a bit. I added minced garlic instead of powder I also added whipping cream into the egg mixture (which I did not separate). I added basil into the eggs as they were cooking instead of added it at the end. When the eggs were done I kept them on the burner and added a few slices of american cheese on the top and stirred it in as it melted. My husband and I like the american cheese better for this specific dish. We had baked french toast with this and it turned out to be a good brunch. Thanks for the recipe,we will use this again :)

I made this with chicken breast instead of doing the kabobs and they were a BIG hit; absolutely fantastic. My sister and my husband are 2 of the families picky eaters and they both loved them, as well as the rest of the family. These will be a regular for us :) Thanks for a great recipe!
