Ramen Coleslaw

Reviewed: Nov. 6, 2013
Followed instructions exactly and it was so good! Simple but very flavorful dressing. I think it would be delicious to add crispy bacon too. Trying that next time.

Ranch Dressing II

Reviewed: May 28, 2012
I made this recipe with the mayo/buttermilk for salad dressing and it did have a strong dill flavor as others said. Luckily I love dill, but it was not the ranch flavor I was looking for. Still delicious!

Peanut Butter Noodles

Reviewed: May 26, 2012
I just made this for dinner and followed the recipe exactly as written. It was very flavorful and tasted like it came from a fancy restaurant. A bit strong for my taste to just eat it by itself. When it was about half gone, I decided I needed something else to eat with it to shake up the flavor. I put it in Iceberg lettuce and made lettuce wraps... It was SO good! I will definitely be keeping this recipe on hand to make in the future.

Boiled Peanuts

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2012
Mine are boiling right now!!! Can't wait to eat them. For those of you living in UTAH... you can get them locally at Ocean Mart (Asian market) on 9000 S. 115 W. They are in the produce section. Just over $2/lb. Hopefully you haven't spend ridiculous amounts of time looking for them like I did.

Salsa Cheese Boule Dip

Reviewed: Dec. 31, 2011
My sister in law gave me a recipe very similar to this. It is a problem... I could eat every bit myself! Same ingredients, different measurements. Cooks in only 22 minutes 2 Loaves french bread. 2 8 oz cream cheese, softened 1 c. sour cream 1 c. salsa 4 c. cheddar cheese Mix together all wet ingredients. Cut off top of one of the loaves. Scoop out insides and fill with wet ingredients. Put on cookie sheet, uncovered, and bake for 10 minutes. Cut up the other loaf (along with the inside and top of the loaf you filled) into bite size pieces and spread around the loaf with filling in it and put back in the oven for another 12 minutes or so. Cooking the bread pieces the whole time would make them too crispy.

Zesty Slow Cooker Chicken Barbecue

Reviewed: Dec. 11, 2011
This was really good. I made it for my parents when they came to watch my kiddos while we went to my husbands work party and they loved it. It was super easy to make. I left them some artisan rolls to make sandwiches, baked potatoes, and a ceasar salad. My mom is not a fan of super sweet food so I did leave out the brown sugar and I am glad I did because it was already a bit sweet from the bbq sauce. My husband ate all of the leftovers the next day. It is another keeper!

Heavenly 'Apple of My Thigh' Dessert

Reviewed: Dec. 11, 2011
I know how it got its name! This is a keeper for sure. So easy and very basic ingredients. It would be great with all kind of fruits. You could use any candy bar, oreos, coconut, etc. Toffee happens to be my favorite, so I will stick with the original recipe.

Lemon-Basil Bow Ties

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2011
This is a very mild pasta with great flavor. My only suggestion is to double or even triple the oil, lemon, and cheese. I tasted it following the recipe and really liked it but once I added a lot more lemon and parmesan cheese, I loved it! A little extra olive oil makes it less dry. Do the same and add more oil and juice to the leftovers and it is just as good as when it was fresh. This dish is good hot or cool. I think a couple spoons of sour cream would really be good in it too if you put it on while it is hot in the pan. I will try that next time.

Delicious Ham and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2011
This was a really good soup. I have not had many cream of potato soups to compare it to but it was really good. I never thought I would say this about anything, but... it was a little salty, and I LOVE salt. Maybe it was the ham I used. Who knows. Next time I will make it without the salt. Just the bullion and salty ham. You can always add more afterward.

Cheddar Cabbage Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2011
I think I gained 5 lbs tonight. I could not get enough! I think it is one of my new favorite recipes. I am putting it is my "Recipes I LOVE" Cookbook. So easy and so good. I followed the recipe exact other than I had to use cream of mushroom because I forgot to buy cream of celery. I even got my picky 7 year old to try a bite and he kept asking me for more. He didn't want his own, but he kept wanting to eat mine. I guess it is better when it comes from your moms plate. I can't wait for leftovers tomorrow... or maybe a midnight snack!

Chewy Crispy Coconut Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2011
These were really good cookies. I followed the recipe exactly as Melissa said, other than toasting the coconut first...as others suggested. The texture is the best I have ever had. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because they didn't have as much of a coconut flavor as I would have liked. I guess I was just craving coconut tonight! They would be really good with a little chocolate drizzled on them. Maybe add a little coconut extract if you want more coconut flavor. I will try that next time.

Creamy Veggie Fondue

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2011
This is a really good recipe. We had it at a baby shower in mini rolls... as bread bowls. We dipped veggies and crackers in it. Then ate the bread bowl at the end. Kept it in a crock pot next to the mini bread bowls to keep it hot. It would be wonderful as a cheese sauce over cooked cauliflower or broccoli. Maybe even a base for a cheesy soup. Another keeper for sure!

Garlic Parmesan Orzo

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2011
I love this recipe. I thought it was going to be a little plain but it was really flavorful. I made is just as the recipe suggested other than the fresh parsley. I didn't have it and figured it was more for color than flavor anyway. I cut up a fresh tomato from the garden and ate it with that. It is a keeper for sure!!

Hash Brown Casserole II

Reviewed: May 15, 2011
This is one of my most favorite things to eat. We call them funeral potatoes where I live. Save time by just putting the corn flakes on top and drizzle melted butter on top. One less pan to wash. I also uncover it after the 40 minutes and cook for another 10 to make corn flakes crispy and brown. My mouth is watering!

Dry Onion Soup Mix

Reviewed: May 15, 2011
This recipe is really good. Such basic ingredients. I had everything on hand. Much less expensive to make on your own and no added preservatives. I did add a little garlic salt, which I love! Used it in the "Awesome Slow Cooker Pot Roast" recipe from this site, which I highly recommend.

Awesome Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: May 15, 2011
This turned out perfect! I seared a 3.5 lb chuck roast in olive oil. Put in the cream of mushroom, Dry Onion Soup Mix (recipe on this site, very good), beef broth rather than water, and the roast. I was worried the gravy was going to be to thick but as it cooked, it thinned out just perfectly. We put the gravy over mashed potatoes, carrots, and onions. I will always make roast with this recipe. It was simple and very good!

Onion Soup Mix

Reviewed: May 14, 2011
This is perfect! I needed onion soup mix for a roast and didn't want to go to the store for one item. I never thought to make my own and I will from now on. I added garlic salt rather than just table salt. I love garlic. Simple and much less expensive. Thank you!

Zesty Zucchini and Squash

Reviewed: Apr. 28, 2011
I love this recipe! They served something just like it at Little America's cafe and we always ordered it. I cut my squash and zucchini diff thicknesses from really thin to about 1/4" thick, it gives each bite a little diff flavor. I saute all the veggies in a little bit of butter until browned, it really changes the taste. Then add the diced tomatoes and let boil for maybe 10 min. Great reheated the next day.

This is so good. Winger's has our favorite dessert and this is just like it. We like to put caramel syrup and cool whip on ours!
