My favorite things to cook
Anything with pasta because it's my favorite thing to eat. I also enjoy making quick breads, muffins, cakes, casseroles.. anything I can bake really!
My favorite family cooking traditions
My family doesn't really have any cooking traditions, unfortunately. I hope to be the one to change that. My grandmother is the only one who really cooks/bakes a lot.. and I guess I get it from her.
My cooking triumphs
Homemade mac and cheese. It's my contribution to family get-togethers. Also, Black Forest Cake.. I rock that schtuff!
My cooking tragedies
I can't make fried chicken or hashbrowns for anything. They always turn out terrible!

Incredibly Cheesy Turkey Meatloaf
This was fantastic! Naturally, I made a few changes. Here's what I did: I used 1 1/2 lbs. of turkey, rather than 2.. just because it fits in my loaf pan better. I used 3/4 c. of crushed butter crackers [instead of bread crumbs], soaked those in 1/2 c. milk. I had to use shredded cheese because it's all I had on hand but I would love to try this with cubed cheese. I used half sharp cheddar, half colby. I added a lot more spices than just s&p. I threw in some oregano, onion powder, garlic powder, chili powder. Mixed all that up together and threw it in my loaf pan. For my glaze, I used Honey BBQ sauce with some brown sugar stirred into it. Baked at 400 for 1 hour and 20 minutes. So, so, so good. Everybody in my family loved this.

Super Easy Fruit Dip
I think I've found the fruit dip I'll be making from now on. Like others, I was bored with cream cheese or marshmallow creme based fruit dip recipes. The only thing I did differently was use 2 containers of yogurt, rather than 1. I used Yoplait's Blueberry and Yoplait's French Vanilla. So, so, so good. Served it up at my son's birthday party and everyone thought it was delicious! Great and simple recipe!

Ambrosia Salad II
My grandmother has been making this recipe for years. It's a must at every family get-together. Great recipe.. so good.
