Grandma's Green Bean Casserole
omg this is sooo good! make this! i used 1 lb green beans cut in half and lightly steamed, 1 whole sm/med onion, whole wheat flour, about 3/4 cup sour cream, added dollops of water until it was creamy enough (not much), topped with about 1/2 cup cheese and some the herbed stuffing mix, but followed the directions. YMMV, but mine is great! mushrooms could be a good addition, too.

Absolutely Best Brownies
one of those brownie craving times, but i've always gone out and bought them. this time i decided to make some. melted the butter in a pyrex bowl in the microwave, added a healthy squirt of hershey's dark chocolate syrup to finish up the bottle, probably used a bit more than cocoa powder than it called for, added a very healthy handful of raisins, and very coarsely chopped a handful of almonds. 8x8 pan is in the oven now set for 25 minutes...but, as usual, i didn't hear it go off, so it went a little longer. looks okay, though and is cooling now...ooooh! pulled up a corner one: yum! i thought they'd be too sweet, but they're wonderful! i just ate a whole row! soo good, but soo much butter! i wonder if i might cut it in half and replace with apple sauce? i'll try that next time, and use half the sugar...

Walnut Brownies
completely changed this up to make triple dark chocolate walnut brownies. no butter, 1/2 the sugar. whole wheat flour, whole eggs. but then i added a square of unsweeetned baking chocolate melted in the microwave in a tablespoon of applesauce, then topped off with more applesauce to make he mixture about 1/2 cup total, and added a generous squirt of special dark chcolate sauce. made these to use up the walnuts so i used all i had, didn't measure. waaay easy.
