About this Cook
I am a mother of 3 boys, ages 12, 8 and 3. I grew up watching and helping my grandmother and mother in the kitchen. Southern comfort foods are all they ever cooked. I try to branch out of that southern cooking as much as I can, but it's in my blood. I love to bake! Pies, cakes, anything that involves me in the kitchen making a mess makes me all giddy inside!
My favorite things to cook
Pies, cobblers, cakes (birthday, wedding, or just plain ol' cakes). I love making any kind of mess in my kitchen.
My cooking triumphs
I make a mean pumpkin pie (simple I know) and red velvet cake.
My cooking tragedies
Probably one recipe I tried.. blackened tilapia.. we ended up throwing it out and ordering pizza :) haha

Yummy Honey Chicken Kabobs
I'd give this a 5 star rating but I think this was more of a teriyaki chicken than honey. It had a good taste to it and my kids loved it. I'll make it again but I may try to reduce the amount of soy sauce.

Creamy Cheesecake
Awesome cheesecake! Quick and super simple! I omitted the lemon since the hubby is not big on anything lemon. After 25 minutes of baking @ 350, it wasn't done. I turned off the oven and continued to 'bake' it as the oven cooled. It came out perfectly!
