Rice Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 20, 2012
I love this recipe. I was skeptical at first, but its currently 88 degrees and very humid, and I needed a quick recipe that didn't require the oven. I did make a few changes based on what I had in the house, no pimentos, no lemon juice, 2 cans of tuna, no dill weed, only 4 eggs, only used 3/4ths of cooked rice, no celery, added only 2 cups of peas and carrots.

Seminary Muffins

This recipe was ok. I followed as directed with the except of eliminating the chips and walnuts, and it was just too bland for me. This kids kinda liked it but not really.

Fluffy Pancakes

Reviewed: Sep. 5, 2011
The last couple of box mixes I had have not been good. So I was looking for a a good scratch recipe. And I believe I've found it. This is a good recipe. I did have buttermilk on hand so I used it in lieu of the "sour milk" and it still came out great.

Fluffy French Toast

This is a great recipe as is. I made no changes. I used kaiser rolls since I only had regular bread which tends to fall apart.

Bum's Lunch

Reviewed: Jun. 19, 2011
This was a nice recipe that makes a lot of sense. I added spices like other reviewers suggested. However, the meat was very tough. Next time I try, I'm going do everything the same except then put the foils in the slow cooker and see how that turns out.

Quick and Easy Home Fries

Reviewed: Jun. 18, 2011
This was a pretty good recipe. I took the advice of others and added some garlic salt and union powder. I also added some diced onions. I covered my potatoes for 15 minutes and then uncovered for another 15, turning every 3-4 minutes.

Turkey Goulash

Reviewed: Jun. 2, 2011
Cooked this for the fam last night and the kids loved it. And since I have a picky 2 year old, that was a blessing. I didn't have any basil on hand, but I don't think that made a difference. I added a small can of tomato paste to thicken up the sauce a bit and used elbow noodles as shown in the pic instead of bow tie. This is a nice hearty meal with plenty of leftovers.

Honey-Cocoa Frosting

Reviewed: Jun. 2, 2011
Tried this recipe to go on a chocolate cake I had baked it I did not like it at all. It had this extra sweet (from the honey) but tangy flavor (from the cream cheese) that just didn't take good to me.

Spiced Yogurt Pound Cake

Reviewed: Jun. 2, 2011
I'm not a big fan of pound cake, but this recipe was great. Not too sweet, just enough spice. The cake needs no icing or frosting. Although a scoop of vanilla ice cream on the side adds a lot. I did make three changes though. I left out the cloves, didn't think they were necessary, I didn't have any yogurt on hand so I subbed with sour cream, and I only used 2 cups of flour.

Country Green Beans

Reviewed: Sep. 5, 2009
Great recipe. I had been looking for a good green bean recipe for a long time. I omitted the ham since we don't eat pork and used ham flavored seasoning instead. And I also used chicken stock.
