Slow Cooker Turkey Breast

Reviewed: Aug. 30, 2009
5 stars for the cooking method alone! I have been using this recipie for a while now but just now getting around to rating it. I am not a fan of onion soup mix so my take on this is to rub the breast in butter, season with salt, pepper and poultry seasoning and lay it on a bed of chopped onion and celery. I also add a cup of chicken broth, and by doing this I get a yield of about 4 cups of perfectly seasoned broth(with veggies) in the end ..that is fabulous for adding to your fav dry stuffing mix and/or strain some and make gravy with it! Throw it all in the slow cooker and have Thanksgiving like dinner at your finger tips when you get home. It's a no fail recipie! I will never roast another turkey breast. My boys smile from ear to ear when they see me starting this in the morning.. because they know their dinner will be sublime. Thankyou for the wonderful idea ms_sally!

This dressing is delicious! I made it without the chicken and used it as an Easter side dish. I Increased the cornbread, adjusted the liquid and used poultry seasoning. Yum! I am saving this one for future holidays!

Colossal Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2009
This recipie has been in my family for years but we call them "grandpa's favorite" cookies as my dad loved them!! We use more choc chips and make the cookies smaller. To flaten just dip the bottom of a cup into sugar and press down. Be careful not to overbake they will still appear soft when done.

Southern Grits Casserole

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2012
The men in this household raved about this casserole. Season your grits and eggs as you cook them (prior to combining) and you will have a winner. I also added garlic powder, cut the eggs back to 8 and added bacon bits along with the cheese on top.

Sweet Potato Casserole I

Reviewed: Dec. 6, 2009
This recipie is outstanding!! It was the surprise hit of our Thanksgiving meal. I cut back on the white sugar, increased the vanilla and added a healthy dose of my favorite holiday spice blend (which contains cinnamon, star anise, cloves, allspice, nutmeg and ginger) and the results were amazing!! My daughter who normally hates sweet potatoes has already begged me to make this again for Christmas. Thankyou for this new holiday masterpiece.. it is so easy and absolutely divine with added spice!!

Ground Turkey Noodle Bake

Made this tonight with whole wheat penne pasta, and a jar sauce. I had to adjust the cheese sauce to what I had on hand and added extra seasonings but even with these changes it was yummy! Thanks for the tasty recipe Ruby!

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: Oct. 16, 2009
This is a winter time favorite at my house! Season the chicken, use broth in place of water and only one can of biscuits. Through trial I have found that the type of cream soup you use makes little difference. Have tried it with many variations(what ever I have on hand) and it's always good! The dumplings need at least 90 mins! Thankyou Janice for this super easy treat!

I made a couple of these pies for my 14yr olds birthday, as he prefers pie to cake, and oh my..they were great!! Increased the peanut butter to 1/2 cup, used an oreo crust and topped with Reese peanut butter chips and semi sweet chips. It doesn't get any easier than this for an amazing treat!

Crustless Spinach Quiche

Reviewed: Jan. 16, 2010
Delicious! Thank you for sharing! I have made this a couple times now and learning to tweak it to my idea of perfection. I like to use fresh spinich, a variety of cheeses, as plain munster can be boring and also it needs garlic IMHO. It is SO good and the leftovers are even better!!

SO easy and delicious!! I had nearly given up on finding a basic white bread for the bread machine that I wouldn't ruin. Oddly enough I always have success with specialty breads but struggled to make basic white.. until now! Try this out you won't be dissapointed. Thanks Diana
